Rutland 100B Sweep Soot Remover, 2-Pound

The chimney sweep who cleaned my system at the start of the season was impressed. All residue crumbled to powder and was easily brushed out. This was after running my fireplace continuously all winter long. I use this soot remover in conjunction with the Rutland creosote remover. He said to continue doing exactly the same thing, as it is working.

I have been using this for a couple heating seasons and the results are terrrific! I just had a chimney cleaner come sweep our chimney at the beginning of this season. We told him that we hadn't had it cleaned for the last 2 seasons of burning, and he said with the amount of build up we should be good for another 2 years. I heat with wood and coal in an indoor furnace. I also use the Rutland creosote remover. Each year I shovel out a bunch of ash at the bottom of my chimney clean out, so this stuff definitely works.

Product seems to help in my fireplace.

Thought this was a cleaning solution you'd mix with water. Turns out it's a fire additive so, I can't comment on how it works since our fireplace isn't wood burning anymore.

This is a good soot cleaner that is easy to use. I simply add a couple tablespoons on top of red hot wood coals a couple times a week which keeps the chimney clean. My chimney stays clean so stove does not smoke up the room when I add wood.

I use a Cast Iron Coal/Wood Stove w/ Pipes . I have used this as prevention and also waited multiple times until the pipes were clogging. This product neither prevents nor removed any soot from my pipes. I am still cleaning my pipes 3 times a month on average. In the end just save your money and clean those messy pipes by hand. Just do it before they get out of hand.

It seems to work well. I've been using this product for several years. I have a fire in my fireplace almost every day during the fall and winter. It was recommended by my Chimney Sweep.

I used to use the cleaning logs but was always left with "the big clean-out " in the spring . Started using the powder 2 years ago and the first spring clean-out there was so little to clean up I thought something was wrong . It works ! Almost look forward to the Clean-out this spring - but not really , the name is cupid not stupid !

That product is useless...Don't spend any money on that . Period !Chris
