Hooked on Phonics, Level 1: Learn to Read

Taught my oldest son to read with this set. He starting reading around 4 and half and he is seven now and reading at a 4th-5th grade level. He LOVES to read. This program is PERFECT for teaching your child to read. The books are right on target with the sounds they learn each lesson and super easy for parents to figure out how to teach. I'm now using this set again for my 3 year old. She is through book 4 now and loving it.

This series is wonderful - HOWEVER - make sure when ordering that you are getting the WHOLE kit. I ordered from Purple Whale 123 and was upset to receive ONLY the workbook. I am in the process of returning the workbook and the customer support has been helpful. But there was no note stating that only the workbook was being sold. No mention of missing books, tapes or flash cards. I have re-purchased from Troyounce who specifically stated that the WHOLE kit was present. Be very wary of sellers who don't include any additional information under the condition of the kit.

Not a great buy the tapes are to fast to follow or don't play

Such a great set. It's really working well for us, my 4 year old is already starting to read and this program has been great!

Listed as the kit but only received book. Would have returned it but needed the book for school and did not want to wait so long to order at another place.

Terrible. I am not happy. I purchased the set that should receive the books that go with it and I only received the workbook ... I will be returning this item. It needs to be advertised as such! Disappointed.

I expected the whole kit since the title said "kit". All I got was the workbook. I am not happy I spent $30 on just the workbook. I have the rest of the series and lost the first kit. I was hoping to replace it.
