Face Off Frenzy Powerband Hockey

Ok - yes I am giving this 4 stars. In reality though I am quite happy with my purchase, it is just that it could be better. You cannot expect a non air hockey contraption to simulate true air hockey. Years ago I had an expensive, full sized air hockey table. This is not the same, but it is a fun toy. I had looked at getting a smaller air hockey table for 150 dollars with roughly the same size play field (I had one of those before the full sized and while I enjoyed it it was simply okay), and I think this is waaaaaay better.Pros - It has a good sized play area, and the bands work pretty well to have it slide across. We play on a hardwood floor, as we tried it on our low pile carpet and while it slides about as well, the puck would flip more - on the hardwood it doesn't (I like that the puck is light and soft because of the nice rubber outer padding which also helps bounce off the sides). I mainly play with a 5 year old, and we can consistently hit is across the play area and have it come all the way back to us. It is pretty impressive. The paddles are effective (I wish the felt was slightly thicker as we have hit the floor with the plastic part - it has not scratched the floor yet, but might) and easy to use. It has some rubber on the bottom of the frame so that it stays on the floor well. While it is not rigid, the frame seems pretty durable (my 2 year old has kind of sat on it and it is still fine). I like sitting and playing - it is a lot of fun. You can also make is into a smaller playing field if you want (my children when playing do put their hand in the playing field which I am fine with). After playing, it can even store under our couch (we have 4 inches of clearance)!Cons - It should come with an extra "PowerBand" and a couple O-rings in case (I expect the PowerBand to eventually lose elasticity like all elastic does, and this would have cost them minimal to provide). On carpet it doesn't work quite as well (at least for me) but we had other options and I was prepared for this. It is fairly expensive at 60 dollars, but it is consistently wanting to be played.As long as you don't expect a real air hockey table experience, I would say this is easily on par with cheap air hockey versions, and has a lot of pluses over those versions and is cheaper. For what it is, it is a solid 4 stars but the felt needs to be thicker. My only real issue is that it would not have cost almost nothing for them to provide a few extra pieces for if/when they are needed (it would be tough to make a replacement band) which would have made it a 5 star product/value.

Fun. Puck and handles flip over with plastic on one side for carpet and felt on the other for hard floors. We have had a great time with it. You need to hit the puck harder then you would on an air table but the adjustment was quick and easy for everyone who has played. Sets up easily and is a great toy in our rotation!

Provided hours of fun over Christmas for all. Setup was a breeze and it is easy to move around once set up. Works well on tiles.

I bought this for my son's birthday and he had a blast with it. A few weeks later he isn't interested anymore, it just sits in a corner. It'll be one of those toys you put away and bring it out a year later.

Gave this gift to my grandson yesterday. One of the Mallets was missing. The instruction sheet says to CALL an 800 number if parts are missing. Problem is this line is ALWAYS busy. After trying to get through for hours, I will need to return the entire game. Poor Customer Service. I really can't rate the actual use of the game, since we are missing parts.

This product quality is cheap and price was to high. Returned.

This is a piece of trash. It seems like a great idea but my back hurts when I play with my son on the floor and the plastic piece that is supposed to slide does not slide well on my wooden floors. Don't buy this crap. Buy a regular hockey table that works with actual air.

It took a bit for the boys to adjust to that fact that if they hit it like a usual air hockey table if very easily goes through the elastic boundaries. The bands don't hold the puck in quite as well as we hoped.
