Flavorful and shaped to hold sauce
I like good pasta which doesn't really exist in local Arizona food stores. It was my first time having strozzapreti shaped pasta.Unlike most others, I am not fond of al dente, but I don't like mushy either. These cooked perfectly to my tastes at 15 minutes, still being solid but not chewy. The flavor was very nice. Grocery store pasta is simply a holder for sauce and by itself is like eating something tasteless. Real Italian pasta like this has its own flavor. I served it to my family with a marinara sauce and chicken parmesan first. It held the sauce well. I then used leftover cooked pasta in a casserole with vegetables and beef gravy for lunch for my son the next day. It was so much better than macaroni or egg noodles as it held up well to the reheating, still had texture and and the ingredients did not slide off.For me the real test is do I want to eat it simply with butter or olive oil, pepper and garlic? A definite yes for this pasta.I will buy more of this brand and the strozzapreti shaped pasta. Especially reasonable price when saving15% on my subscribe and save list.

Excellent!
Superior pasta! Worth every penny. More than I’d normally spend. Perfect texture and taste. It has a richness to it. Like no boxed pasta I’ve ever bought in the supermarket.

It tastes Italian.
Hard to find Italian pasta in Arizona. Especially when you have been there and know the difference in taste. Found this on Amazon and tried it. It is amazing. The flavor and the value is great. Tastes like the pasta you have in Italy.

Greast pasta, slightly on the expensive side
So what we have here is pasta purely made from flour and water, set into a shape I've never heard of -- but it's an interesting shape that I'd gladly buy if they sold at the supermarket in cheaper brands. So here's the thing. Pasta like this is made by running it through a brass "extruder" rather than a Teflon one, which causes both the deeper yellow color as well as being a rougher texture -- rougher texture means it holds sauce better, which this brand certainly does. Apparently this causes it to come out faster (thus more is made in the same amount of time) which is why brass is more expensive.ANYWAY, regardless of that, this is really good pasta clearly made through brass....but yet it's still on the high side, price-wise. I would give it five stars because it IS fantastic, but with the issue of being as much as it is (plus the issue below), only four.As an aside, as a Vine member they gave me the entire four bags (1lb each) for testing (most companies would give members a single bag). This is great....but they also give a whole 12 for the penne, which is really on the high side. Thankfully this pasta doesn't expire for almost three years, but if they can afford to give away 12lb of food to a whole bunch of people who are simply going to review it....should it really be that expensive?

My new favorite pasta.
This is delicious. Since it's bronze die cut, it holds the sauce. I'm hooked.

Good but not that good
For some reasons I was expecting better. It's vey expensive and it takes forever to cook. I know that good pastattakes long to cook, but this took 15 minutes and was still too much al dente. Not buying again.
