I have bought several from this seller over the past couple years (goHardDrives), I have recommended my clients purchase these for their price and reliability. Hitachi was bought out by WD and renamed HSGT so regardless which brand you order form this seller they will be the same drive except the HSGT branded ones will be newer. My first two are 4 years old at this point running in raid 1, and neither have any health issues. Just did a health check on all my drives in all my server. I ran PC doctor extended checks with butterfly read and linear read test. Typically even a failing, or soon to be failing drive that passes SMART testing will still fail one of those test if its starting to go, but nope everything was well within normal. Drives are great and the only seller I buy refurbished drives from.

So far no issues, other than these are very loud drives. IMPORTANTLY, checking the uptime of the drive I received, it shows that they have been running for +7 years. I know this is a used drive however given the average lifetime of HDDs are around 5 years, just be careful and have redundancy/backup when using these. I will update in 90 days if any issues is encountered.6-Month Update: They are still running which is good. Still very noisy and running at about 40 deg Celsius.

I ordered my first drive of this type a while back on recommendation from my uncle who also purchased one. He had no issues so I bought one of them. I had no issues from that drive so I bought 4 together recently. They are of the proper capacity once formatted and function as they should. I have had no issues with them at all. I not only would buy more of them, I have bought 4 more of them after I got the first one and was satisfied with it.

For the most part, these hard drives are rock solid. My system is up and running nearly 24/7, only turning off for brief Maintenance because I run my own plex media server. Since I'm running my own media server, this has caused my data storage requirements to keep increasing. I've personally had very good luck with Hitachi drives which is why I continue to purchase them. As soon as I installed this drive, there was a noticeable performance decrease in the computer. Windows would take up to 5 minutes to login to the desktop once you entered the password and this had never happened before the drive was installed. The drive failed and once removed from the system, boot time was restored.Not sure what happened, but the Master boot record became damaged and unrepairable. The drive could no longer be mounted or formatted. Attempted to use third party software to fix the boot record or format the drive and nothing worked. The windows disk utility attempted to format and kept prompted with CRC errors and refused to mount or format the drive. Amazon support was super helpful. just waiting to see how everything works out from this point.

Work great for storage. I think I have a total of 5. One has a ticking sound but works fine. No problems at all. I would recommend these.

This product is amazing for the price, features, and easy installation. A must have for those who want more for a fair amount.
