Geisha Wild Caught Tiny Shrimp (Pack of 4 Cans) Dry Weight 4 oz Each

I prefer these wild caught to the farm raised product. The farm raised looked like tiny pieces of something resembling shrimp, I was disappointed with that product.These wild caught are tiny as I wanted but are whole and have the shape and taste of shrimp, makes a nice shrimp dip.

I've been using Bumble Bee Shrimp for 40 years, as did my mother. I decided to try this brand for Thanksgiving this year. I ordered four cans. In every single can, the shrimp were infused with sand. I tried washing it out, but it was in the shrimp!!! I quickly went to the store and bought Bumble Bee tiny shrimp. My recipes were saved! It is too bad Pacific Pearl Seafood is no longer in business! Believe it or not, I used to work for them when I was a teenager on Kodiak Island, Alaska. They canned shrimp and produced many, many other products. I worked on the belt line where we would pick out shells and misc. things out of the fresh steamed shrimp. My deduction of the whole experience, other than being on the most beautiful island in the North Pacific, never, ever buy shrimp in 'bits and pieces'!! Because the shrimp drop through many, many screens. The bottom tray was just the crumbs and usually full of missed shells. I rarely ever see bits and pieces anymore, but tiny shrimp is always there. My favorite medium deveined shrimp has been removed from the market!! Boo!! I literally have to devein each and every tiny shrimp so my dip isn't riddled with poop! It's sad because this canned shrimp is brined to perfection where it has a consistency of 'fall off the bone meat' in a sense, but the sand in it is just gross! Maybe I should try to brine my own??

I don’t know if I can use these. The cans are dented. Are they spoiled? I don’t know but I’m sure not going to try it and risk getting sick. This product is non returnable. Just my luck.

We used to buy this brand but Kroger stopped having it on the shelf. Great shrimp flavor.
