Small, cute, bit works
Looks just like the pictures except the tamper and scooper are a little smaller. But, it's made that way because the actual pod itself is small for the Ily 7.1 machine. The pods on that machine are small. So, once you get over how cute and small the parts are, the machine loves the new adaptor and the espressos taste Devine. Lots of crema and smooth! Will buy another one! Easy to clean and take care off.

Finally the capsule that works!!
This capsule is the best!I have tried all of the reusable capsules types and ONLY this type of capsule works correctly and closest technically to the original one. This capsule will not work if you chose wrong ground type. It should be espresso ground. Its not coarse, not medium or fine, it is between medium and fine. Or just simply buy coffee beans in good coffee house like Blue bottle or Inteligensia and ask them to grind it for espresso.Capsule can fit and must fit 6 gr of coffee for the best taste. Put coffee inside, fill it to the top of capsule, then press it with temper, and then fill it to the top again as much as possible and press again. After the pressed coffee is filled to the top of capsule or almost to the top, close the capsule and do the espresso in your Illy machine.

Great solution for using your favorite coffee in your Illy capsules machine
Finally, a way to use other coffees with my Illy Francis Francis capsule machine. And to save a little bit of the environment as well, by not having to throw away single use plastic capsules ever time you use the machines. What sold me on this particular model is that is comes with a tamper as well as a scoop. Although it takes a bit of time to fill the steel capsule, it is worth it for me.For it to work well you should use extremely finely ground coffee and tamper down every scoop you add. Fill it almost all the way to the top for best flavor results. You need to close and tighten the capsule very well so that the water does not come out of the closing seam.Unfortunately, i've already lost one of the silicone o rings, which are fundamental for this to work properly. Luckily the unit comes with 2 spares. Take care of them because they are vital for the good working order of the capsule.

Doesn’t work
I’ve tried multiple different coffee blends. I’ve tried course, medium and fine grounds. Espresso blends, dark blends etc. This product does not replicate the pods required for my espresso machine.Very disappointing and I’m 2 days past my “return window” and there are no other options. I’d like to return and obtain a refund by for $25 it was absolutely a waste of money and effort.

Perfect replacement to single use pods!
Many people like this pod for different reasons. I personally wanted to use my old Illy iperespresso Y3.1 machine once again, but refused to pay over $20 for a bag of 21 pods —I drink at least two large cups each day, so you do the math. One thing though: you do have to add the perfect amount of coffee and tamper it with pressure to avoid getting a watery cup of coffee. I got it right by the third time of use. Also, you should buy two pods instead of one like they advise here, because each pod gets very hot and having an extra allows you to brew another serving more quickly.Other than that, feels sturdy and of good quality, it’s very easy to clean and handle. One advice: don’t rush by pouring cold water to cool it quicker as it may deform the pod, let it cool naturally so you can go ahead and wash it to prepare more.

Works great! Saves money and reduces plastic use.
I've been an espresso drinker for many years and an Illy Ipperespresso drinker for the last five or so. Recently I just got tired of all the plastic generated by the capsules, even if they have a recycling program. For me, this refillable capsule works great. I saw reviews that say that it's either producing too much coffee or too little. Well, that's how espresso works. When you first get a new machine or a new grinder, you need to figure out the balance between the coarseness of the ground coffee, the quantity and the force of the tamper. It will take 2, 3, 5, maybe 10 tries, but once your hand is "calibrated", you'll get a nice consistent pull. So don't give up, try again!

Good, but not great.
There are several of these after-market refillable capsules for Illy Iperespresso machines available, and I have tried a few of them. (These should really be something that Illy ships with the device instead of creating a lot of plastic waste with their OEM capsules, bit I digress.) This model is ok, but not great. It certainly works as described but is slightly smaller than the socket it fits into on the machine’s pull handle, which leaves a gap when hot water is flowing through to the cup. As a result, it leaks, and you get overflow water in your coffee or expresso that waters it down. Can post a video if that would be helpful. The best one I have tested so far has a molded rubber lid (orange color). I would post a link here, but it’s not on Amazon and usually those get removed when included in product reviews. Google is your friend.

Perfect Espresso Capsule
I purchased this really nice Francis Francis X7. One espresso machine. It was used but the prior owner kept it in great condition the only thing missing was the Capsule, I didn’t realize it uses coffee capsules. So I started my investigation and found the coffee capsules all have to be recycled and I really wanted to use my own coffee and coffee beans so I went online and found this wonderful stainless steel espresso capsule/pod. It came with a coffee measure a brush to clean it out with and a tapper. As soon as it came in I couldn’t wait to try out my new machine. I was very impressed with how sturdy the stainless steel capsule was, very durable and it comes with two extra washers to change out the old one once it gets too worn and starts leaking. The tapper has some good weight behind it and looks just as nice. My 1st cup of espresso was delicious and espressed out very creamy. I would recommend this to all that utilize the Francis Francis X7.1 or any other pod/capsule utilization espresso machine.
