FXT makes good equipment
Conclusion: All in all, this 'should' be very reliable and I liked the form factor and 400mw power output level.FXT is one of few companies out there that I've not had any catastrophic failures with. This is extremely important to note for a Vtx of course. Because 20x20 4in1's aren't quite up to par yet, a Vtx that mounts on a 30x30 platform makes more sense for the way I build things. FXT has gone above and beyond and created an OSD on the Vtx itself. You can plug a control board directly into the Vtx and go to town with all the settings right in front of your face. I usually don't change my Vtx settings much but if I did, I'd probably prefer smart audio but this is a really sure fire way to go about things as well.

Is this the right VTX for you?
What I liked:- The osd, showing battery voltage, channel, power output, and on time- it fits on a 30x30 stack- has an mmcx connector- the pigtail it comes with isn’t too long- the vtx can be powered on but shut off the video transmitting- has a pit modeWhat I dislike:- the size, it’s a little bigger than most vtx’s- you cannot control the power output or the channel through smart audio or tramp telemetry- you have to use a control board/buttons to adjust the power output and channelI have not done a flight test with it yet, soon to come.

Seems like a good VTx
I like all the features on this . Favorite channels and smart OSD and a controller for the OSD . I cant seem to pick out the channel I want though . I watched a video and did what he did but I cant get it to scroll through the programed favorites . I can get it to change channels but cant see what im getting and then have to search the channels with my fat sharks then I can see what its on . I get pot luck . Maybe im doing something wrong or maybe some functions arent working right on this . I have also tried to pick a channel in the menu under CH with no success . This would be a cool VTx if I could figure out why its not letting me scroll through numbers . The instructions really suck too and videos on youtube are not much better

Great full feature video transmitter in a small package.
This is a great vtx, small and light. It has two mounting holes so it can be mounted on top of a stack or zip tied to the frame. I use heat sinks on my vtx's and this one is perfect for that. Full features in small package, has smart audio and switchable power. This might be my new favorite vtx. I will buy one again.

Easy
Instructions provided are clear and accurate, osd interface is easy enough to use. Simple install. I like the two mounting holes on the side so it’s easy to add to a stack.

For the wing pilot looking for OSD with no FC.
A bit of a confused design as this VTX is mainly a fixed wing intended offering. It offers a 30 by 30 set of mounting holes more for a stack on a multi rotor. If your bay inside your plane has this mount option then it will work perfectly. The installed osd is a bit wonky to access with the included joystick in tight builds but will work fine if you plan your access point. Perfect for a fixed wing pilot not needing a flight controller but redundant if you do. Just turn it off.Range and clarity are a huge uptick for this unit. Invest in a well made mmcx antenna directly and crank it to 400mw. Paired with a good receiver it will go quite a distance, farther that you want to crash anyway.I always power my vtx separate on a wing build so ise a good clean five volt bec. Some all in one boards will give you noise and that is a build tip more than a negative on this board.Good unit, solid build and reliable. A bit mixed on board design and make sure you have space in your rig. Distance and clarity are very good.
