UPDATE: Wow, this doorbell made it through one of the worst winters ever. 8+ months and counting! Increased from 4 to 5 stars for its great battery-free design and durability.It's been a month of summer heat and rain, and my doorbell still works! A different brand doorbell kept dying and couldn't take being outside. I really need this to be weatherproof, since the door has no eave and gets direct sun and wind. Here's hoping it makes it through a Wisconsin winter. Chime options are really tinny and strange, but the regular ding-dong will do. Happy so far!

needed a doorbell for our side door, wanted black this one works great! different tunes to pick was a neat surprise that I didnt read about when picked to purchase.

It's light weight and compact enough to not to take up too much outlet space
I like that the light flashes when the door bell is rang so if you are running dishes and laundry and the noise is too much to hear the bell you can see the flash. However I don't like that I can't hear it when my bedroom door is closed and it's only 15ft from the receiver
