A good product for beginners
I had only been snowboarding 4 or 5 times when I purchased this, and like many beginners, I was having trouble getting off the chair lift without falling. My big motivation for purchasing this product, though, was after a crash while getting off chair lift. In this crash, my board stuck in the snow, and my body flipped over the other way. This motion twisted my left knee badly and caused a decent sprain to my MCL. (Note that I don't ride goofy, so my left leg is my lead leg and the one that remains strapped in to my bindings while on the lift)Anyway, I purchased this product so that if I fell again, at least my board would be attached to two feet and not just one, and hopefully prevent my knee from getting twisted like a wet shirt being rung out. So far the strap pad has worked great for me. Not only do I fall off the chair lift much less (probably less than once per day), I don't worry about hurting my knee again. (I'm not saying it couldn't happen...my foot could slip out and I could have the same accident, but I think it would be much much less likely to happen. Plus, I'm just better at getting off the lift now.)The product also works great when riding the lift as you can slip your foot in and then don't have to worry about having the board dangling from your left foot during the whole lift ride. And you don't have to worry about putting the board on your right foot's laces and cutting up your boot on your board's edge. Note: If your lift seat is packed with people, you may not have enough room to strap in right away though.Overall, it's very comfortable to use when riding the lift, and gives me tremendous confidence when getting off the lift, so I highly recommend this product to all beginners. I can't speak for experienced or expert riders as I'm not one, and have only been riding about 3 months as I write this.Cons: My strap is fraying some at the edges, and this even happened after the first use. It's not going to fall apart, but it's a bit tacky, and seems like it could have been prevented pretty easily. Also, it might be better if the strap were slightly more rigid so that it was easier to get your foot into. When not in use, the velcro strap gets mashed down and can at times be a little tricky to get your foot in. This happens when skating on your board while in line at the chair lift -- you end up just stepping on top of the strap while gliding after pushing your board with your back leg. I don't really know how they'd get around this. It doesn't seem to be a big problem for me. I could also take the strap off (it's very easy to do) and have a regular stomp pad if this really bugged me.

Little large, but works as described.
I generally like the Strap Pad. It is transparent, so you can still "mostly" see your snowboard's graphics. It helps relieve strain from knees and ankles while riding chair lifts. It also stabilizes the board when dismounting a lift. The only reasons I don't give it 5 stars:(1) it is rather large -- could be trimmed by an inch all around.(2) Non-transparent strap(3) The adhesive adheres too quickly to make minor adjustments while placing it.(4) not very compatible with the Burton channel system because of its size (it can cover the bolt insert for the channel).

Great deal from Amazon not Wicks Ski Shop in Exton Pa which is a bad place to be.
This strap pad is great if you don't want to have to worry about embarrassingly falling while getting on or off the lift at a mountain. It's also good for setting up to perform one footed tricks. Even if your back binding breaks totally, you can use this strap pad as a means to make it down the mountain to service your broken binding. I have spent over 15,000 dollars on winter sports gear and this piece of professional equipment is by far the most convenient piece of gear that I have ever bought. I have heard a very fat chick who is an adopted drugged out fiend (daughter of Mark and Nancy, the owners) who works for Wicks ski shop in Exton Pa, say that a good boarder doesn't need a stomp pad when she hasn't even ever snowboarded so we can say that was the drugs talking. Anyway this is a great investment for snowboarders of all ages and skill levels, just make sure to buy this from Amazon and not for the over priced store called Wicks ski shop in Exton PA. Not a very professional environment but Amazon is great and I give this a 5 star review for the great functionality, ease of use, safety first feature, and great look also. Buy this while global warming still allows us to go boarding before the great pole shift and the next ice age for survivors. That last park was a joke and most likely something that Eric Derkotch of Wicks would believe while on substances that are illegal. Buy this try this, love this, and shove this into your kids stocking this year for a great gift. Much obliged to own this strap pad, so strap on, strap in, and strap it up before you ride that fiber glass / wooden dream all day up and down the mountain.

It's OK
I got one for me and my girlfriend. Mine, I didn't care for the strap as i found it more annoying than helpful eventually so I took it off. My girlfriend however liked the strap and continued to use that way. But after only a day of riding the strap begins to fray a lot and continues to do so - Doesn't seem to affect it's performance but looks ugly when it becomes stringy like that. Trimming those loose strands helps clean it up. After 6 or 7 days of riding, her strap popped off entirely. At first i thought maybe the Velcro just came undone, but upon further inspection, i found out it broke at the plastic hooks on the sides that the strap actually ties too. So now it's no longer a "strap pad" but just a really large, rather expensive, stomp pad for her. I would give her mine since I don't really care for it but I called the company and asked what kind of clear adhesive I could use to reattach my strap pad to her board after pulling it off mine and they said it cannot be reattached, that they use a "special" adhesive that's unavailable and would be come dangerous if I tried to use something over the counter. We eventually just pulled it off and got her a more flattering Dakine pad. YMMV
