The Princess and the Packet of Frozen Peas Hardcover – Picture Book, April 1, 2012

I bought this book for my 3.5 year old daughter because she loves princesses. After finishing the story, I wondered what she would think because she loves traditional 'fancy' princesses, and the message in this story is essentially that even a outdoorsy girl can be a good princess. She LOVED the pictures and I'm sure we'll be reading this one again and again. My favorite part was the antics of the girly and high-maintenance sister-in-law princess - the pictures of her were hilarious! I would recommend this book - it is great for bedtime reading.

decent anti-princess story book. It's a hard line to walk, not talking up princesses, but also not making royals sound like horrible people, but also not being heavy handed 'princess are smart and cool and strong' what was my point? Oh yeah, this one is good.

A different and refreshing take on a princess story! My girls love this book and so do I! I love that it presents the idea that to be a princess does not mean you have to be girly. You can like hockey and camping! Definitely an adorably written and illustrated book with a great message.

This is a witty little manual for a 21st Century princess. She can be outdoorsy (beyond chasing the hounds), she can be fun; she can look like a normal girl, without movie-star "beauty"; and --best of all--she is NOT high maintenance. The charmingly illustrated book will have its young reader laughing at the prince's quest to find a non-whiny princess. But the book's message about being female and desirable is utterly serious, and its one I want to give to all the little girls I love.

My daughter is into princesses. Fortunately for me, she is also open to alternative princess tales. Fortunately for my husband, this book also contains hockey. We all enjoy the story (and the illustrations): a perfect fit!

I HATE the princess and the pea, it's a horrible story, this re-boot of the awful version is downright lovable - the prince is a romantic rather than a shallow cad and the 'unreal' princess is a tomboy, together they discover real love.

The books quality is great, no problems at all. The story is just perfect! I tell all of my friends that they need to read this book. It's awesome.

Kids love this book!

Have usually been quite prompt with my deliveries. I think I could have rented a guy on a mule and had him ride them up here in a shorter time period.
