Many things have gone missing in this world: Amelia Earhart, D.B. Cooper, the Olmec civilization, Jeff Tremaine's waistline, even the whole continent of Atlantis. Most important and culturally relevant, though, is a big mess of jackass segments that had apparently slipped through a crack in Mianus and never found a home on any of the DVD releases for the classic MTV television series. The "Self Defense Test," "Stun Collar," "Unicycle Poo Barf," "Fast Food Football," "Roller Jump," and "Satan vs. God" (in it's original long ass-kicking form!) are just some of the absurd gold that what was once lost but now is found, not to mention all the original show opens, credit montages, and a bunch of other bonus footage that was never shown on television - or wasn't allowed to be shown - featuring Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Ryan Dunn, Preston Lacy, Wee-Man, Danger Ehren, and Dave England in their earliest years of basic cable fame and notoriety.

Funniest Jackass I’ve seen
How in Earth is this outtakes? This content is better than Jackass 2! If your a fan of Jackass, you’ll definitely want to pick this up. Filmed in the Jackass crews prime, they are on their worst behavior.

It's just missing a little something.
I remember I watched the first episode the first night it aired. I loved Jackass from the moment I saw Johnny Knoxville was beckoning someone to "come wash my back!" after the poo cocktail. I really really did. One day, during the first season, in front of my fellow Ecology students, while wearing a pair of waders way too large for me I said "Hi. I'm Johnny Knoxville. And these are really big pants" The look of astonishment all my classmates gave me when they realized, yes....we all watch Jackass as our secret vice...became the moment I realized I was a part of a cultural phenomenon.I have the original DVD's. I have seen the movies. I even have the "10 Years of Stupid Book." I loved these guys and would like to personally thank each one of them for sacrificing their personal well-being so that I can laugh (more on that later). When MTV shows old episodes I watch them. But there are certain bits that the network never showed anymore. The ones that I missed the most were "Human Raft" and "Satan vs. God" (the original). So when I found out the "Lost Tapes" exist, I had to have it.But here is the problem with MTV DVD's...they swap out the music for some banal generic score and it truly loses something....something important. All of their DVD's are this way. What made the "Human Raft" so much more funny was having "Rock the Boat" from the 1970's playing in the background as Wee Man smilingly paddled while lying on Preston Lacey. And what made "Satan vs. God" so much more....touching???....was Joan Osborne crooning "What if God was one of us..." as Chris Pontius walked down the street lonely and alone as Satan...and then the young girls coming to his rescue when someone tried to beat him up.I was just...disappointed. MTV shows are a little cultural time capsules. Without the music, they are time capsules sorely missing something. If all you want to see is these guys doing the old stuff...you'll love this. I downgraded it one star because of the music. But maybe...maybe I have grown up and gotten old. And maybe Ryan Dunn's death made me second guess what I am laughing at. Because, I often found myself saying out loud "Oh, my God, be careful" and..feeling sad, because I like these guys. I don't want to see them hurting themselves any more. I think what would be funnier now...is a DVD of them telling their war stories.

MATURE audinces ONLY! Do not watch while eating!
Jackass is like an early glimpse into the very beginnings of 2000 and 2001. I think this show should've been rated 25 & up simply because of the Adult entertainment here. This is NOT for teenagers even though it was marketed towards teens 16 & up. Some of the scenes were too gnarly for me like poo poo platter and the one where Johnny pee's the bed. Johnny Knoxville is an overgrown child and he has no sense of decency or a conscience for that matter. Bam on the other hand has REAL talent, but I cannot stand Knoxville. This is for Mature audiences 25 & up, because your brain fully develops at 25.

Jackass memories
This dvd not only brings me back to watching late night MTV at my friends house in secret. It has the episodes I was missing with the box set. It also has ones I have never seen. One of them actually made me gag which is quite a feat. Worth it to any fan of jackass!

It's the missing pieces from the jackass boxed set!
After getting the jackass boxed set I started regretting not having taped the old actual shows on VHS (remember those?). The boxed set was great but incomplete. After getting the lost tapes I was excited to see all of the classic bits once more. This includes every intro segment and every credit sequence which has material throughout. There's some over-lap as the too hot for TV material is shown here and elsewhere. I laughed and had a little trip down memory lane the first time watching this DVD. I don't intend to choose it over watching, say, the movies but I will pop it in occasionally. As stupid as jackass was it paved the way for others and I'd probably watch that crew and their antics at any age.

Not Good Enough to Make the MTV Cut May Not Be Good Enough to Make Your Cut
This contains part of the footage that wasn't good enough to make the final MTV cut. Some of the footage isn't censored. Some does not have music. Some of it is incomplete. It is a must for a Jackass lover, but the causal watcher may not find it very entertaining.

Awesome
Shows all the stuff that wasn’t in the original complete series box collection. Funny/gross/everything you’d expect from these guys.

Not as good as older Jackass DVDs
I bought this as a Christmas gift. Recipient really liked the older Jackass DVDs so I was excited to get this. Feedback was this was no where near as funny as the older DVDs and there were too many episodes that only dealt with puke & poop vs. actual funny antics.

Jackass: The Lost Tapes - The best stuff
Why is everyone slating this DVD as just another "crappy rip-off" - People are also saying there's no new material? Well obviously not, MTV originally released three volumes of Jackass (each being the best of each series) and left out the best stunts/sketches/skits such as "God Vs. Satan", "Self Defense Test", "Stun Collar" and "Fast Food Football". Other amazing sketches include "Unicycle Poo Barf", "Roller Jump" and the sickly-grotesque "Vomelete" - that sketch really is a great way to make yourself feel really sick. The Lost Tapes is just a compilation of all the stuff left off the volumes in a normal cheap DVD package. The DVD comes in a normal black amary case, the screen is full frame and the sound stereo. It is 104 minutes in length and there are 93 chapters which means they're are 93 stunts, sketches and skits. This infact is actually the best stuff and people who are saying this isn't funny clearly hasn't watched this fully because this is by the far funniest Jackass TV show collection DVD I've ever seen. It really is one of the funniest TV compilations of all time, and the best thing about Jackass is no matter how you order all the segments - it's still loads of fun! Some of the sketches sort of cut out but it's not really surprising because it is obviously connected to some other stunt that's not on the DVD, but hey? It doesn't really matter. For £3 this is a bargain, (The price may have changed by the time you read this) and a fantastic one at that! Seriously, buy this DVD because it is the BEST OF the TV show. The films are obviously better but this is the best TV stuff.[NOTE: Amazon, for some reason, have the wrong DVD cover with a PINK skull and crossbones when actually it's orange]

Decent DVD which loses it's steam towards the end.
First things first, the actual DVD is coloured orange and not pink like it is in the picture. This DVD shows the scenes of Jackass that did not make it to air for one reason or another, aswell as a few of the more popular scenes that did make it to air. It's quite a long DVD which is amusing for about the first three quarters. By the end of the DVD it's not as amusing as you'd expect from Jackass but the whole point of this DVD was to show the stuff they didn't put on air for one reason or another so the drop in quality is to be expected. All in all this DVD is worth it and very fun to watch - you just might find yourself hovering over the stop button after an hour or so.

GREAT!!!
I watched Jackass when it was shown on TV. Then I forgot the whole series for years. Recently I found them on the internet and got hooked again. I bought all the movies and the complete TV- series box ( I was lucky to get the last new item!) from Amazon. And most recently this one. And what a Jackass would have I been if I haven't bought all these!! The TV- series has some great stunts that I have been missing so much. But the team is like a good wine: getting better and better over the years. The stunts in the movies 2 - 3,5 are SO GOOD! Have been laughing so much.Where do they get all the ideas?! If you are a Jackass fan, don't miss these!!

The lost tapes is a good add on for jackass seris the lost tapes is the deleted secens of the tv show and the clips that got banned. Very good the best skits are the vomlet, poo poo plater, extream unicycleing, bear wresteling and the human urinal.A good setfor jackass fans runs 95 min but i would match in 2 parts you will know wat i mean when u get it.

Boring, Boring, Boring
hard to find many laughs, the only stunt that both amused and revolved us was the sketch were they made an omelette out of vomit, and ate it, sickening, the rest was pretty shabby,
