In the first feature-length animated movie based on the Hanna-Barbera series, Jonny Quest fans get to meet the women behind the adventurous men. Joining scientist Benton Quest, his plucky son Jonny, bodyguard Race Bannon and Jonny's young pal Hadji are Benton's biologist wife Rachel, Race's ex-wife Jade and young 12-year-old Jessie, who harbors a big secret. Throughout, Team Quest battles the evil schemes of modern-day alchemist Dr. Zin, who has cloned himself and created an army of mutant reptiles in the Peruvian rain forest. The clash there results in a tragedy that changes Jonny's life forever -- and later leads to a worldwide pursuit of Zin that includes examining rare Leonardo da Vinci documents in Paris, exploring the Roman catacombs and a final confrontation in the Australian outback.

Johnny's Golden Quest The Movie
I remember seeing this old movie in primetime back in 1992 or 1993 and it was my introduction to the Johnny Quest franchise. The plot has Johnny wanting revenge on Dr. Zin for his Mother's death and he blamed his Father for her death but it was Zin he should've been angry at. This movie has a lot of twist and turns and shocking revelations that'll keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Very Good Movie
I loved this movie because it showed Dr. Quest's wife Rachelle. With the brisk manner in which he conducted himself in the original series, it came as a shock that he be shown in a romantic light. He obviously loved his wife very much. The introduction to Jessie was unique and too bad the writers introduced her mother as Jade and then later as Estella. Story continuity issues. This would have made the perfect live action film with it's drama, loss, and realistic depiction of what happens when a death of beloved mother and wife occurs. Well done.

Classic movie
I'm a big Jonny Quest fan, mainly of the newer series that ran in the 90s. I read the comics and I was excited for this DVD because this movie was so controversial. It's an old classic and I enjoyed it very much. They only thing that kinda bothered me was the DVD quality. I've noticed this has been an issue from the company as of late. I wish they'd take more consideration in making something of quality. It's basically just a burned DVD with a few printed out labels thrown on it. The DVD doesn't offer any extras either, which I think are fun to watch. Regardless, if you're a fan, of is worth it.

A golden buy
I recall watching the series of Jonny Quest as a boy with my parents. Then one day, this wonderful movie appeared on television. I was enraptured. New characters, a more intense plot than anything in the cartoon thus far, and a far more sinister villain than the ones I had grown accustomed to on the show. I knew then and there that I must have that movie. So, I waited and saved for the day that it might come to VHS. But sadly that day never came. Fast forward to August of 2011. I was purchasing other videos of former cartoon greats on Amazon, when this wonderful advertisement showed the DVD for Jonny's Golden Quest. Now, my son and grandson stay up all hours of the night watching this the way I always dreamed of. Thank you Amazon.com.

Uncut, uncensored, high-quality remasters
Always loved Jonny Quest when I was a kid in the 1960βs. I appreciated seeing the original, uncensored original versions, without the politically correct revisions of the sometimes admittedly insensitive language of the time.

A reasonable quest
Would rate this more highly than the (so called) Real Adventures of Jonny Quest but not as good as the original. The slightly more grown up Jonny is a bit too rebellious teen here. Still enjoyable
