Want 10G speed from your network, get this
Only 10G adapter I could find to work with my Mac. It works great.

Quiet and speedy!
I enjoy products that just work and are consistent out of the box. This one is rock solid. Does heat up a little but overall editing from a 10Gbps NAS is flawless.

Not reliable on macos, no linux support, runs hot
These are not reliable devices, at least on macos. The connection drops to 100mb equivalent without warning, and requires cycling the connection, or recreating the network interface to go back to 10gb.Runs very hot. Also, no linux support.Go with the sonnet. It's reliable, smaller, runs cooler, and linux support is seamless.

This did the trick and file transfers are lightning fast!
I bought the 10 Gbps Ethernet Adapter but wanted to move files fast so I thought "Thunderbolt" gets things moving fast so I bought this OWC Thunderbolt 3 10G Ethernet Adapter and I didn't believe how fast my files got from my MAC to my server. This is very impressive, and you will not be disappointed. You'll be closer towards the "Amazed" frame of mind!!One word towards troubleshooting I observed. If you are running a VPN, it can interfere with the connection. My Mac PC is temperamental when it comes to network connectivity, and I found out my VPN was causing more trouble than I gave it credit for. Once I turned off my VPN, smooth sailing from then on. I hope this helps

Works As Expected, Even Though It Looks Used
I decided to upgrade my home network and bought this adapter to use on an M1 Mac Mini. The product itself works great, gives me fast transfers and barely even gets warm no matter how much I use it.However, I ordered and paid for a NEW product and "fullfilled by Amazon" sent me one that appeared to have been previously opened/used. When I opened the product box, this adapter sat on top of the plastic bag that it should have been inside of. Either OWC's quality control missed this or I got a used product.Since I never had a problem with the device, I let the return window close and just continued using it. At this point, I have had the adapter for several months and have been very happy with its performance.Hopefully, this review was helpful to you.

Best of the worst
Ever single 10gbe to thunderbolt adapter seems to work, less than desirable. This one is the best of the worst! If the cable is moved slightly, sometimes, it looses connection. Really don’t get it but out of all the ones I’ve tried, this one looses connection the LEAST.

Needing full bandwidth
OMG, the Internet flies on my computer. Now, it really allows my MacBook Pro to shine.

Unreliable for Mac Users – OWC Aware of Issue but No Fix
I purchased the OWC Thunderbolt 3 10G Ethernet Adapter for use with my iMac M1 running macOS Sequoia 15.3, expecting a reliable high-speed network connection. Instead, this adapter has been nothing but frustrating and unreliable. It randomly disconnects, especially during large file transfers, sometimes even corrupting files. After extensive troubleshooting, including resetting network settings, replacing cables, upgrading macOS, and following every step OWC suggested, the issue still persists. OWC support has acknowledged no known compatibility issues, yet they have no firmware fix or solution. Their only recommendation? Return it and try another unit, as if that’s a real fix. This suggests they are aware of the issue but unwilling to properly address it.If you're planning to use this adapter in 10G mode on an M1 iMac running macOS Sequoia 15.3, be warned—OWC knows about the problem but has no resolution. Unless you're willing to deal with frequent disconnections and weak customer support, avoid this product. I expected better from a brand like OWC, but this has been a major disappointment.
