Gerber Good Start Gentle (HMO) Non-GMO Powder Infant Formula, Stage 1, 32.0 oz

This formula is great. Our baby had to transition to formula around 8 weeks old. The daycare she was going to be attending provided Gerber Gentle formula so that's how we chose this brand. However, I would highly recommend it to others. Our daughter did wonderful during the transition - there are no memorable issues. Shortly after starting this formula, she started sleeping through the night (it definitely sustained her longer). The formula mixes easily (rarely with unmixed chunks).

I started giving this formula to my daughter when she was around 3 weeks old. She was born with several health issues making it both difficult to breastfeed as well as put on weight. We still use this formula to supplement her, she is almost 4 months old now. She has not had gas or spit up issues while taking this formula, and when we incorporated it into her feedings she got back to where she needed to be on the growth curve. She is flourishing now and healthy. I did a TON of research prior to incorporating formula in order to find what would work best for our situation. What I DISLIKE about this formula as a parent? It's so clumpy. If you use a bottle which say isn't 100% dry and mix this up, it clumps so badly, you have to shake, shake, shake. All the shaking causes bubbles which I imagine could present an issue for gassy babies. We use ComoTomo bottles, (which I absolutely love!) but even in those bottles this formula clumps something awful. The other issue as a parent is price, this formula is pricier than some other brands and near impossible to get coupons for. We normally buy it at Target because if you use their Cartwheel app you can occasionally get 10% off which is better than nothing. I have 3 kids, one was exclusively FF, the second was exclusively BF, and my third is combo/fed with this formula so keep in mind every baby is different. As far as supplementing goes this formula work's great for my daughter health-wise. Her condition means she metabolizes very quickly and this formula seems to keep her properly satiated.

At about 4 months, we decided to start giving a bottle of formula before bed at night. He has always had reflux problems/intolerances that I haven't been able to figure out. At first we tried the samples given to us by our OB, Enfamil regular & sensitive. He hated them the moment it touched his mouth. Acted like it tasted bad, immediately starting coughing, trying to spit it out. When we got this, he just drank it like it was breast milk. No reaction at all. The best part is, he does not spit up after I give him formula. We have started supplementing it during the day when we are out & I can't nurse him. It is very tempting not to just switch him over! Wish it wasn't so expensive!

This formula has been a life save, my daughter likes this one particularly. We tried the purple one also but she had gas and digestion problems with that. This has become a regular order for us.Usage1. While mixing formula and power i have noticed some small lumps but if we shake more for say 10 to 15 seconds they go away2. It's not complicated to use and the packaging give spoons to mix and use, pretty easy.

Best formula we've found for our constpated baby. So happy we switched and wish we did it sooner. My baby isn't particular about his milk but some formulas horribly constipate even with apple juice and prune purée. Strongly recommend trying this one.

Best formula! Little one needed an extra ounce or two on top of what he was getting for breast milk and this is the only kind he would take. I tasted it (along with all the others) and it’s the only one that doesn’t seem to taste like a really gross protein shake.

We used this to supplement breast milk as my wife wasn't producing enough. Our daughter was on it for the first year and we had no issues with gas or contamination. She is constantly on point to the charts and has been a very healthy baby. I am sure glad to be off formula, but would use this again if another child comes around.

This new version of the stage 1 powder causes major gas issues for my baby. The ingredients are in fact different because I saved a tub of the prior version. My baby will no longer drink this when I prepare this new version. She makes a face, cries and swats at the bottle. The prior version she loved. Gerber why did you change this? UGH
