135mm (5.5") Pro Wool Cutting Pad/Disc from Flexipads is an innovative polishing pad that features an 10mm superfine wool pile on a 10mm foam layer. The superfine wool surface is layered onto a soft black foam for increased stability during use, increasing efficiency and control. Wool pads are primarily for use with rotary machines however this new design from Flexipads can accommodate use on DA machines thanks to its foam backing and superfine wool pile although please note that more hazing will occur with use on a DA rather than rotary due to the elliptical motion however wool pads always require a 2 or 3 stage polish regardless of machine used due to the strong corrective abilities. The pros of using wool for paint correction are the speed in which they cut through defects and the reduced heat they generate in doing so. To operate at their optimum level wool pads require more product as abrasives are broken down quicker thanks to the sheer number of fibres and regular spurring keeps the surface free to do its job.
