Wow! Simple and immediately usable
This is a fantastic product! It charges through the Echo, so you just unplug the Echo like normal and music, etc. just continues. Seamless. It fits snugly to the Echo so it seems like it's part of it. I also like that I can keep it up off the kitchen counter a bit . . . if there were a spill of water, etc., this keeps the fabric raised off the counter a bit . . an added bonus. The stand is also rubbery and so it's not rattling with loud music on a hard surface. Super happy with it!

Excellent quality and improves sound
I bought this portable battery base for my Amazon Echo because while I have a number of Echo products throughout the house (including the Flex in two bathrooms), I wanted something that I could take with me to my backyard where we spend a lot of time. I thought, what the heck, for $32 I'll give it a try and hook it up to my Echo which is in my family room, right next to the door to go out to the backyard. Setting it up is easy: 1. Take off the small plastic rectangular plug on the bottom of the Echo speaker (and save in case you ever need it again); 2. Set the Echo into the base and gently push into place; 3. Screw the large, easy to turn, screw in the bottom of the base with your fingers. The speaker came with two out of four charge lights lit, so it was ready to take outside and test. It worked flawlessly; in fact, I think it improved the bass very noticeably, so that now the sound coming out of the Echo sounds better than without the base. It's a matter of keeping the Echo plug that came with the speaker plugged into the base all the time, and when you want to take the speaker with you all you do is unplug the cord from the base and take it with you. There is zero interruption to the sound; the speaker just keeps on playing. I haven't tested it long enough to ascertain its uninterrupted battery life, but I have noticed that after about 90 minutes it's still showing two out of the four power level lights. So my guess is it'll go at least three to four hours. I'll update if I have a chance to test the batter life out fully. In sum: It's a great price. Easy to set up and use. It's aesthetically pleasing and looks like it's a part of the speaker. 4. The sound quality seems to improve over not having the base. I very highly recommend.

Highly recommended for use outside
Simple and easy to use.- Using a letter opener, carefully pry off silicone cover on the bottom of the Echo (DO NOT throw away) to expose the needed connection for battery base operation.- Align the pins on the top of the battery base with the connection on the bottom of the Echo.- Use thumb screw on bottom of battery base to secure it to the Echo- Plug in your Echo like normal to charge the battery base. Will be fully charged when all 4 blue lights above power button are solid.- When battery base is fully charged, the Echo can be used like normal without the power plug for around 5 hours. Just keep in mind to stay within range of your WiFi signal.- To use on battery power, press power button on battery base once. Wait for Echo to boot up before streaming music. When done, press power button on battery base once to turn off.

Up to 4 Hours But Also Drain On Standby
This battery is nice and works fine. It makes the echo portable which is amazing. I can listen to music for up to 4 hours without recharging. The only issue I have, is that the battery is drained also in standby mode when the speaker has no activity what so ever. It would be nice to have the battery only drained when actually using the speaker. I assume the echo does things "quietly" which drains the battery...

Manufacturer replaced defective unit
This battery base will not keep a charge EVER! It is useless as a portable device for my Amazon Echo Plus.It worked initially. I have even unscrewed the base and then reconnecting it and kept it plugged into the wall and it just will not keep a charge and the lights on the base will not stay lite showing device charged. The prior base for an earlier version of Amazon Echo had was a shell that went over the Amazon Echo device and that worked; this new base that connects to the bottom is now useless to me. Very disappointed. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT.I contacted manufacturer and they sent me a new unit. New one is staying charged and I’m happy to say they stand by their product.

Fits like a glove and works like a charm!
5 stars, without a doubt. The Echo Plus is a great product that is only limited by its non-portability. With the Mission Battery Base, that is no longer a problem. This base is well built, has a sleek design and is easy to use. This rubber base fits perfectly around the echo and a simple nob screws it in securely from the bottom. Now we can move it around without having to plug it in. Intuitive set up, keep the echo upright without tipping and the battery life is great. I highly recommend this base for any echo product.

Echo Plus 2nd Gen Battery Base Makes Your Echo Plus Portable
The media could not be loaded. We have been owned just about every Amazon Echo device you can image at our house. We bought the original when it was released, the Echo Dot, the 2nd Gen device and now the 2nd gen Echo Plus. I've enjoyed watching as they have improved the platform over the years. It is now an integral part of our lives. One thing that we haven't had with the devices is portability. I bought the battery base for the Echo plus, and have been using it for a short time.It was easy to install, just line up the power port and the screw into the screw hole on the bottom of the Echo Plus. Once screwed on the Echo will charge the base when plugged in. When you unplug, the battery takes over. You can unplug while playing music and it won't miss a beat. Thus far it seems to be well made, durable, has a great non-slip rubberized base on it (to avoid it falling off a table or wherever), and does exactly what it's advertised to do. I'm not sure if the battery life that's advertised (5 hrs) is what we'll get yet, but I have the mission battery shell for our Echo 2nd gen, and that one's battery life is as advertised.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this device again, and would recommend it to anyone looking to make their Echo Plus 2nd gen a more portable platform. The only real downside that I can find for the unit are that you can't turn off the bright blue LEDs on the front, which can be annoying.
