Sun Gro Horticulture Black Gold Orchid Mix

I purchase BLACK GOLD for orchids all the time for ALL my orchid plants. I must have approximately 30 different types of orchid plants and I use this to repot them ALL THE TIME. I really believe my orchids love this soil because they do so well in it and bloom for me every year. The only place that I can purchase this soil is from AMAZON. I just purchased 3 bags for the orchid plants I have at work.

The orchid mix is a nice and fine to fine-medium blend, so far the orchids I re-potted are doing great and it's been a couple months. I would buy again as well as see if they have anything in a coarser grade.

i had hoped transplanting my orchid into this along with some orchid food, my 4 year old orchid would bloom but it hasn't.... it hasn't changed at all, not even grown. it still looks very healthy so i'm happy about that...and i believe this soil is responsible for that.

Unfortunately, this orchid mix had the consistency of soil. Could not use for my orchid or it would have smothered the roots.

Inappropriate for orchids

Online it looked like a smaller amount. This is a huge bag--but for a good price. My little orchid plant will be happy.

This mix has been working great for my transplanted orchid. It holds moisture well, has good mix of the media, and allows my orchid to breathe. No transplant shock.

It's a pretty fine soil mix, but it works great for young seedlings and keikis.
