The radio I received had a volume control issue and a dial accuracy issue. I sent an email as directed by the printed insert and got a response almost immediately. The customer support was impressive and a replacement radio arrived a day later. And now for the review.This radio is a competent performer at the price point. Sensitivity and selectivity are good on both AM and FM. The sound quality is above what is expected from a small package. The tuning assist light assures centering on the received frequency. The headphone output is surprisingly good and while the radio is mono, it produces program in both channels of a stereo headset. It's very cool that the dial lights up but I wish there was a switch to let you turn it off when the light was not needed. Battery life to be determined but my expectation is that it will be reasonable. It's a nice little radio and worth buying.

Listening right now to some classical music playing on this sweet little radio. The sound is crisp and clear - pleasing - relaxing.The retro look is a brilliant idea! It's just a pleasure to look at this radio.The Tune light, to me, is a must for every radio. Yet so few have it - this one does. And tuning in stations is easy and friendly. The built in DSP (Digital Signal Processing) works great in assisting finding stations. Once you find it, you're locked in. No driftng whatsoever. Huge difference over the old radios. This little guy is retro in looks only. The rest is state of the art.A radio well worth having. Glad I have it and would easily recommend it to anyone.(And, by the way, customer service is excellent!)

My first one the antennae broke when I went to pull. The company was great and replaced it fast. The second so far is working better but hard to get a signal in some areas. I have mine in one spot where the signal is good and just leave it in position. Otherwise works pretty good. Very easy to get station/user friendly.

There's a lot I like about the Semier S236 radio. It's a bit larger than I'd expected; really it's the perfect size for handheld use. The sound quality is very pleasing to the ears. I like the lighted dial - that's a nice touch. Over at least part of the AM and FM bands, the dial accuracy is better than that of many of the other inexpensive radios we're seeing these days. That's one area I'd like to see further improvement on. Sensitivity on both bands is good, although it does drop off at the higher end of the AM band. One thing I wish they would eliminate is the audio mute on fading of signals, especially on AM. This muting makes listening to weaker signals difficult or impossible. But with the more powerful distant stations it's not a problem. I have to say again that the shape and size of this radio are perfect for hours of handheld use!

I bought this for an older relative as a gift. He said it worked for about a week and it sounded great. A week later it no longer worked. He said that there was a part loose and moving inside the radio and it just stopped working. I guess you get what you pay for.

This little radio has the loudest volume I've heard, for such a small radio. The volume control button doesn't work as well as it should. It must be attached to tightly and the ridges aren't as deep as they need to be for fingers to control. This thing drains batteries way, way, way too quickly. I believe because of the lighted dial and the loud volume perhaps. I use the radio at work, four days a week. I have to change the batteries every two to three days and I don't work a full eight hour shift.

When I can get it to work, it works great. Sound is clear. Small, portable, light weight, back light dial are all great features. The volume control is not. It has been getting tighter, hard to turn. You have to push on it and use the edge of your fingernail in the dial grooves. Now it's to the point I fuss with it just to get any volume at all. Shame too cause I really like everything else on this radio. Seller says any problems contact them but they offer no links to do so. Would be nice if they suggested a fix.

I bought this for an elderly lady neighbor,she lives alone, her vision is not very good, and she’s very feeble. I thought the simplicity of this radio makes it easy for her to use and enjoy.I tested it before giving to her, the radio gets a lot of channels, good quality, good reception,perfect pocket size with light weight, simple three easy controls, clear sound with excellent volume, pretty much as advertised. Hope this simple and elegant gift will fill her heart with joy.
