pleasantly surprised with how fun/easy this was to work with
I took a risk and bought CelluClay for the first time after reading the reviews. I wanted something to make a pumpkinrot scarecrow for Halloween this year. I included pictures of my first attempt ever using the clay and am quite optimistic for future projects. Obviously I'm not a professional, but this stuff was easy to use and I'd recommend it for anyone trying out papier mache clay for the first time! The first picture is right after my clay dried. In the sunny desert, it took less than 24 hours to harden. I was ready to paint it the next day. I used a flat black spray paint (pic #2) and then dry brushed it with white (pic #3). I LOVE dry brushing with the Celluclay texture. It was easy and effective. I contemplated leaving it black and white. Pic #4 is after dry brushing with brown, green, yellow, and orange. I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed dry brushing this. The clay didn't suck the water out of the brush, it was a great surface to paint. The ingredients are basic, nothing toxic to worry about so you can get your hands dirty. And also, small details are harder to make, but for the most part it was super easy to work with and kept its shape. I did take everyone's advice and mixed this outside!Things I learned for my next project:-make sure you cover the WHOLE surface with the clay, or you'll have rough bumpy spots along with the smooth newspaper mache parts.-it does shrink (just a tiny bit) so make sure you keep that in mind while sculpting.

Easy to use best to add some glue
This is a good product, much easier than shredding paper, etc. Be sure you break down the clumps and pour some glue into it with the water you add. The glue gives it a more "sturdy" consistency and if you're gonig to sculpt a bit, use more glue. It's a bit dusty when you first put it in the bowl, but that's sort of the whole idea (finely shredded paper). This dries strong: my 5 ft. dragon is very happy with her wings and scales which were made of this product.

paper mache
If you have not used the add water ready to use paper mâché ... you should if you are trying to make your own. I do not write reviews often but this i had to do... I am an artist , I work with clay paper and paper mâché and when making it myself i never got it quite right to do what i needed it for. This instant so to speak if a life safer and a truly great product. the direction are for naking something really big but just 2 to one (2 cups of dry mâché one cup of warm water . that will cover a 8 " rabbit and enough left to press a small free form bowl.... there go ahead enjoy

Fun to use! Easy for students.
I love this paper clay product. It's easy to mix and fun to use. I appreciate that you can attach fresh clay to the dried project. This comes in handy when you only have one class per week and not a lot of class time together! My reason for giving is 4 out of 5 stars is just for value. I thought the clay would go a lot farther, but ended up having to buy more halfway through the project.

Gets the Job Done !!!
That's a very good product ! I decided to do a frame for a small mirror , I used cardboard as the frame and I build up on that with the paper mache to give it shape and volume. It definitely needs a trial and error time , therefore create small batches until you figure it out. My first batch was too moist as I covered half of my mirror , my second batch was just perfect , and the difference happened on the drying time. Half of it was still wet , and the other half dried way faster. I mixed glue with it , after I did the paper mache/water mix , then I added the glue , mixed for a bit more and then applied to my project. That will keep the mix solid , as most of the crafting videos I've seen on youtube do that ! I will buy again for sure after I finish it. And of course a little goes a long way !

Time Saver!
Great price, easy to work with, excellent way to make lots of paper mache. If you have a lot to make, this will definitely save you time and effort over using traditional newspaper. Newspaper is cheaper, but the benefit of this instant paper mache is well worth the minimal cost! If you are making one item, you can have the 'whole experience' if you use newspaper, but for mass producing paper mache products, this is absolutely the way to go.

Its very lumpy
This product sticks well to wood or cloth but will not stay on plastic foamIt is not smelly and dries hard but ....the lumps are a problem. The lumps do mash down but it made my process very long. It is time consuming to get a smooth finish and only at certain levels of dryness is it possible at all.I think I may work well to make the dough well in advance and store for maximum absorption of the material with water.

Polyvalent

Great!
Love this product! It's so easy to use and you can create amazing objects with it. You just need to take into consideration the rough texture and the time it needs to dry out (about 2 days if the layer is not too thick).

Activa CelluClay Instant Paper Mache
This is a very good product! I used it to create for a small art work cardboard and paper mache to build up shape and volume. It definitely requires some trial and error, so start with small batches until you figure out the right consistency. My first batch was too moist, and my second batch was perfect, with the difference showing in the drying time. I mixed glue with the paper mache/water mix, which helped keep the mix solid, as recommended in many crafting videos.I love this paper clay product. It's easy to mix and fun to use, and you can attach fresh clay to the dried project, which is handy if you only have limited class time. However, I thought the clay would go farther and ended up needing more halfway through the project, which affects the overall value.Despite this, I will definitely buy it again. A little goes a long way once you get the hang of it, and the quality makes it worth the purchase.
