Good sturdy cover. LOTS of columns. Most account ledgers do not have enough! There is also room to write one set of headings at the top which show on each page.

I ordered this item because it was advertised as suitable for "double entry" bookkeeping. I have made it work for this purpose by adapting the layout to facilitate double entry, but it requires modifying each page and looks untidy and unprofessional. I was unable to find a more suitable product, so I am stuck with it. Manual "double entry accounting" seems to be a thing of the past, although I can't help feeling that there is an existing market for such ledgers. I suspect that there are large quantities of these ledgers stored and forgotten somewhere, but I was unable to find them.

These books are essential for the self-employed but are usually ridiculously expensive especially, the ones cut off at the top, enabling only having to enter headings once for the entire use of the book. They are excellent value and a good "Guildhall" quality product.
