It works with the Goal Zero Yeti
This works with the Yeti Goal Zero. I have a Yeti 1250 and a 400. I hooked up third party flexible solar panels, and used this MC4 to 8mm adapter, and it worked well. Just don’t use an inverter since the Yeti already has one built in. For the Yeti 1250, I hooked up two 100 W panels. There are two ports on the Yeti 1250, and each port can handle only 160 W (total 240 W). I mistakenly connected the two panels (200 W total) and used only one port; I got an error message. At first, I thought that the adapter didn’t work, but when I hooked up one 100 W panel per port, it worked like a charm. The Yeti 400 has only one port, so I used one single 100 W panel.

Works perfect with Jackery
If you need or want a cable to charge your Jackery directly from a solar panel this is perfect. It is a stout, durable cable with a perfect fit. Apparently it was designed for Goal Zero, but should work for a whole host of solar generators. This could be a life saver if the power goes out for an extended period of time.

Works with Goal Zero Yeti
I used the MC4 Solar to 8mm Adapter Cable to charge a Goal Zero Yeti with a generic 100W solar panel at our family Camp. Previously, we used portable power packs and moved them from the charging location to power connectors for the led lights. This summer I wired everything together to plug into the Yeti and ran the solar panel cable to the central location where the Yeti was stored. The Yeti is a battery power pack with a built-in solar charge controller and takes an 8mm plug for the solar input. It can also be expanded by adding batteries to either side of it. We use the Yeti to power all of the Camp led lights and charge cell phones. After being used all night, the yeti would be fully charged by mid-day on a sunny day. The 8mm adapter cable saved me a ton of time. Without it I would have had to build a custom cable. It made connecting the solar panel a breeze.

Polarity correct for Goalzero!
I have seen a lot of reviews complaining about polarity. This one is correct. And if you look at the review images it seems the MC4 connector positive and negative markings are not matching the color of the wires. However, since this is at the receiving end of your solar panels entering the Goalzero battery the polarity is actually correct. MC4 + will connect with MC4 - As long as your panel positive is (red) connecting to the red cable on this connector you are fine. Also, the blue 8 mm adapter connects perfectly snug with the Goal zero input (vs the similar product from iGreely). The image with the polarity shows what you need for connecting to Goalzero. I assume that works for the other batteries too. I am super happy to have found the correct product. This is an honest review. I did not get one free.

Revised rating
The manufacturer reached out to me about my review, which I always appreciate, so I wanted to update my comments a bit to stay objective. Overall, the adapter is working well for my uses. I'm still testing with various panels and will update further.Cable polarity does not match the product photo. Said photo shows a positive red wire going into a positive-marked female MC4, and negative black into the negative-marked male connector. The version I received has a red wire for the female, but the connector is marked negative... same with the black negative going into a male connector marked as positive. As long as the wires reflect the true polarity, ALL IS OKAY.The 16 gauge wire for the 8mm could be an issue if you want to run a line over 10 feet or so... 14 gauge would be more reasonable.

Perfect for Renogy panels and Yeti 1000
I've ordered 3 of these now for connecting various Renogy panels to my Goal Zero Yeti 1000. They've all arrived promptly and worked perfectly. Construction seems solid and polarity seems correct for the way the Renogy panels are wired.

Unreliable
Worked great for two day with my GZ Yeti 400 and 100W panel. Then cable mysteriously stopped working. Maybe I got a lemon?

Worth the money
I was feeling that $25 was a little steep for a cable, but this works flawlessly and is high quality...connected and worked in 10 seconds, so I am happy!EDIT: No issue yet after a full summer...working fine into winter:)
