Excellent color and flavor
Overall I am very impressed with this product. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. Its design is simple and clean and I appreciate that it comes in a small jar and not a flat disc as many other brands do. The jar is far easier to store on my spice rack and its shape reduces the risk of spilling or grabbing more saffron than I need, a common problem I faced with the disc packaging. When I opened the jar the saffron smelled bright and fresh. I used a small amount to make some basmati rice (prep details if you want to add them) and I was pleasantly surprised by the potency of the flavor and the richness of the color produced from such a small amount.

Excellent quality
I used this product in powder form (using coffee grinder) for the dishes that I make. The quality, color, and aroma was excellent. I am very happy with my purchase. As a bonus the container was well designed and very useful as well.

The real thing & here are my reasons why
Let me start with this! this little jar of pure saffron reminds me of back home. The aroma is fascinating the minute you open it.Let’s clarify one thing right off the bat. Saffron is indeed “the most expensive spice in the world” by weight, but you need so little when cooking that it’s actually cheaper to use than many everyday flavorings—a single lemon often costs twice as much as a pinch of saffron. And a pinch, which is 20 to 25 threads, is all you need in most cases.Ad Saffron is an expensive ingredient, obviously people see money by selling the fake saffron. So let me show you a way to find the good real stuff (in this case this beautiful red gold).1. If you put a saffron thread/strand in your mouth and if it tastes sweet…. IT’s FAKE2-Another very very distinct way of identifying is the aroma. But what about the aroma? One should know the aroma to decide whether its right or not.Pure saffron aroma is very interesting. If u know what Honey smells like, and you also know what hay smells like…you would know what Real Saffron Aroma is. It is literally a blend of Hay and Honey smells.4. Put Saffron in water. In some time, it will colour the water. But what’s the big deal, so can the fake one. However when you take the thread out of water, it won’t lose its original colour, whereas if is is fake, it would completely loae its added colour, and wouldn’t look the same.A very interesting test is to add a little baking soda in water and mix it. Then add saffron to the mixture. The water/baking soda mix shall turn yellow if its Pure SaffronThe fake one will turn dim red.One of the most interesting Mantras for saffron is to use the the word Sweet correctly.Good saffron should always Smell Sweet and never Taste Sweet. And the last thing:When buying saffron, keep two rules in mind. First, buy saffron in threads only. Powdered saffron can contain other products, and it’s difficult to know whether you’re buying the pure spice. Second, look for saffron that contains only short, deep red threads (they’re actually the stigmas from the saffron crocus). Lesser grades of saffron include threads with some yellow areas (which is the style part of the flower). This isn’t a bad thing, but the yellow part doesn’t have the same coloring and flavoring power as the red stigmas, so the saffron isn’t as potent. Check out the picture I sent with my review. The threads are completely red from top to bottom.I hope this helps!

Real deal
Looks like real deal! Great saffron, recommended! The only thing is they might want to change a packaging a little. Saffron being stored in glass is not so good its supposed to exposed to light . But no biggie ... as long as product not fake all good

The best of the least expensive
Good quality in nice container.I just realized how expensive saffron is in US. I bought the same amount for about $5 in Europe, and here, it’s double the amount.
