Another inspiring life
Another inspiring story for our children to better understand history and how things can be changed through dreams and hard work.Emmeline Pankhurst was a girl, born at a time when opportunities for women were so different than her brothers. However, she was born into a home where she was encouraged to read; something she embraced even though her father explained she had little chance of realising her potential and going to university. What I value most in her life as a father myself, is that she exceeded her potential and over achieved. She wasn’t a follower but a leader who took inspiration from her own family. Hardship and setbacks never dimmed her spirit and her beliefs and actions mirrored her words. She is best associated with “Votes for Women” and the Suffragette movement. But despite all their struggles, endured violence and imprisonment her political acumen was best demonstrated by necessity during the First World War. When changing tack, she encouraged women to demonstrate by taking on the work left by men sent to the trenches and show that women were equal to men.She had struggled in her own life, bringing up her children by working herself when her husband died unexpectedly. The colourful illustrations with a simple but clear use of words makes these books so accessible. This book demonstrates these quantities wonderfully and will be a perfect addition to a child’s bookshelf or a young reader’s borrower’s list from the local library.

Sister Suffragette!!
We got this for my 3.5 year old daughter for Christmas with a few others from the series, she was absolutely captivated by the story! It's beautifully told in a way for small children to understand, while still keeping the important parts of the story. I have to admit, I did even well up a bit reading it to her and explaining all about how there was a time in history where women couldn't do different things JUST because they were women.A beautifully illustrated, well written, heart warming book that would be a well loved addition to any little persons library!

Can’t express how awesome this book is sufficiently!
This line of books are fantastic this one in particular is fantastic if you want to help your sons and daughters understand exactly how our rights came to frustration, it’s important that our children understand women had to fight for their rights and that it’s something we continue to have fight for .The book arrived in good conditionThis line of books are what I use as gifts for children from 2-9 years old

Wonderful book
I bought this wonderful book for my nine year old daughter in celebration of it being one hundred years since some women were given the right to vote in the UK. The book is probably aimed for younger readers but she loved it. Very well written and beautifully illustrated and it opened up a wider conversation about suffragettes. Pankhurst is such an important historical figure and we should never forget how hard she fort for us all.

Beautiful story
My daughter (age 6) absolutely loves these books. She has taken three titles into school to be read to her class and they have gone down very well! When we read for the first time, I actually shed a tear at how beautifully this story was rewritten for children to enjoy. Can't wait to add to her collection - she says she wants them all for Christmas, lol.

Women Warriors
It's hard to go wrong with stories about strong female role models, but this series does a beautiful job of addressing the hardships these persons faced as well as their triumphs. My niece and nephew both love these stories and I usually bring one with me each time I visit!
