I really liked this product initially!But a few days after I had received it ( before using it), I noticed a chipped area ( small) on the outside of the lid.I did not return this product because I had already thrown the packaging away.Otherwise, I would have been 100% on board with this container.

I love that the mouth of this jar is so wide that I can easily pour ingredients (like rolled oats and blueberries, for making overnight oats) directly from measuring cups into the jar without spilling or needing a funnel. I hunted high and low for an all-glass jar that would allow this, and this is the only one I could find that has a wide-enough mouth. (Similar-sized Mason jars have mouths that are too small.)I also like that the gasket is made of natural rubber, NOT silicone (which is actually a form of plastic). If you're looking for a truly plastic-free product, this is it! From an ecological perspective, I really appreciate this. And I can attest to the rubber gasket's ability to prevent spills, as this jar (filled with my breakfast) overturned inside a tote bag I was carrying, and not one drop leaked out.I love well-made and well-designed things, and this jar (made in Italy) meets both criteria. It's a pleasure to look at and use every day. Another nice thing: This jar is available in different heights, but all the lids are the same width, and thus the lids are all interchangeable.One not-so-nice thing, which is not the manufacturer's fault: Amazon does not properly package this item when shipping it, and thus don't be surprised if the jar and/or the lid arrive broken. Mine arrive with a broken lid, so I had to request a replacement, which was very easy to do online. A whole new jar was sent to me at no change (I did not need to ship back anything), but it seemed wasteful when this could have been avoided by simply padding the product properly for shipping. The second shipment was also insufficiently padded, but thankfully the lid arrived intact; however, the jar did not!I use these jars to make a hearty portion of overnight oats (1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1 cup blueberries, covered with soy milk). The 25.25-ounce size proved to be the perfect size for this purpose, as it still left enough space to stir the ingredients together in the morning without spilling over the lip of the jar. The larger 34-ounce size would work too, and would also be good for storing dinner leftovers or as a canister for dry goods (like loose tea leaves).If you remove the gasket and wire latch from the lid (which are very easy to detach and re-attach), this jar and lid can safely be put/used in the dishwasher, microwave, a warm (not very hot) oven, and freezer. Because of its very wide mouth, the jar is also very easy to hand wash. It's an incredibly convenient and versatile item. Yes, it's expensive, but I think it's perfect in every way and worth it. I prefer to pay for high quality initially, so I won't have to replace an item for a long time (if ever).Thank you, Luigi Bormioli, for making this perfect jar, and thank you, Amazon, for making it available for purchase in the U.S.!

Truly ant-proof. Big plus to view contents.

I started with Weck... and then liked these better because there was no clip to go flying across the counter. Problem is that the wire tensioner cracks the glass recess where it goes in and about 15% of the time, doesn't actually line up and work. I've ordered a couple dozen of these jars and 4 of them arrived shattered. So, I won't be buying them anymore and I will just deal with what I have and plan accordingly.

This is very high-quality. Really made well.

Love this!! I have bought quite a few different ones. I have arthritis in my hands and these make is so easy to open and close.

This is the perfect crock to keep my heirloom sourdough starter because of the size. I have another Bormioli crock that is taller, but it was hard to use a spoon to stir it up after refreshing. This one is just the right height, width and volume. I can completely remove the lid and set it aside, which is more room for the spoon, and the volume size is enough to allow for expansion when it rises without bubbling over. It’s also a good width to use a small ladle to dip and measure when I need to use it for recipes. I’m actually thinking about buying another one for my other starter that is living in my larger Bormioli since it’s frustrating every time I try to dip in or refresh that one. Having the right size crock for starter is so crucial. Some are too small, some are too large, but this one is just right!

This is an amazing jar, really well-designed and easy to use. I bought this and a Weck mold jar for my sourdough starter; I ended up vastly preferring this one. Straight sides, lid snaps on easily (the main reason it's superior to the Weck, for me), nice thick glass. The rubber seal is also very sturdy, though I don't use it with the sourdough starter. As a bonus, I think the jar is very attractive and a bit more modern in style than some other canning jars.Be aware that I thought I was getting a set of 6 jars as the Amazon description notes, but only 1 jar was sent. Customer service helped me out but make sure you don't get scammed. The jar is fantastic, but not worth this high Amazon price for a single unit.

Feine Gläser für mein Früchte-Müsli. Haben aber eine ungünstige Größe, um sie mit einer Hand zu greifen. Eins hat meine Frau schon zerdeppert. Zu kleine Hände. Dafür ist die Einfüllöffnung des Weckglases ideal zum auslöffeln geeignet.

蓋がはずれるから、汚れたら洗えるしレンジにかける事が出来る。口も広いから果物など入れたり取り出したりが楽。

hervorragend fuer das Ansetzen von Brotteig. Allerdings hat ein Glasdeckel kochendes Wasser nicht vertragen und ist in zwei Teile zersprungen. Das ist fuer ein Einmachglas nicht unbedingt eine Empfehlung!
