Best Models Ever, Chicks and Bikinis Rule!
This is a superb sports fantasy lifestyle game. According to the lead designer, that's exactly what its suppose to be. Not a gambling game or a shopping game -lifestyle. Who would actually be looking for a "hard-core volleyball game?" Probably people who bought Simpson's Road Rage and complained it's not a hard-core racing sim. Even though volleyball playing is both fun and serious. Always set your gal-pal up for a spike if possible! Graphics are the best in any video game- perfect skin tones, tans, multiple views when your bikini babe poses, no pixalation at full zone. It's incredibly fun to dress up the babes in numerous accessories and watch her play volleyball in them. Then change the outfits- NEVER gets boring. Of course the predictable femi-nazis cry out "how dare you like girls in bikinis". They find it easier to sit on the couch with a box of hoho's and a remote control, and tell you what to like, than it is to become close to how fantastic these girls look in a bikini. When the virtual-reality girlfriend arrives (The 6th Day-style), Hitome (which I pronounce "Hit-on-me") and new model Lisa will be featured prominently. Watching "Hit-on-me" hop across the pool, relax, or dance around the fireplace on the beach at night in a sexy bikini will change your whole outlook on life. Ignore the angry PC-police and get this great game now!

Beautiful girls, terrible volleyball
This game is, in essence, just a series of mini-games. The beach volleyball that is supposedly the center of the game is just an afterthought. It is a poor simulation, with only one terrible camera angle and simplistic control. You can't judge depth, thereby eliminating all strategy from the game. The real "game" is to earn as much money as possible by winning games, playing in the casino (another mini game) or doing this stupid jumping mini game that never changes. Once the money is acquired, you can buy more swimsuits for the girls, as well as nail polish, hats and what have you. That's it.The graphics are stunning, and the animations are really, really well done. The sound is pretty good, with a nice soundtrack. The game, however, is not translated, so you have to deal with ridiculously overacted Japanese chatter and English subtitles. The infuriating thing is that you have a free roam camera during replays (to better observe your girls', ahem, shot), but the gameplay is hurt by a single sideways camera angle that only shows one side of the court at a time.Bottom line, you should check out BeachSpikers on the Gamecube. It's a much, much better volleyball game, and the girls are just as hot, and have just as many customizable swimsuits, if that's what you're after.

Got the game for a great price and I could tell the seller tried to buff it but it still wouldn't play in the system. I took it to my local game shop and they buffed it for $2, now it plays perfectly. Other than that, came with case and booklet. Awesome deal.

The same engine as Dead or Alive 3, but with volleyball.
This game is a really classic one for me, it's because it's just as deep as the Dead or Alive 3 engine, but it's a completely different sport. The first Dead or Alive game for Xbox, utilizes a fighting game engine for a really innovative and visceral experience, this one however is a little different. Utilizing the same engine as the first game, this title gives you the same endless hours of a deep & complex fighting game, but with a volleyball theme. I've spent over 500 hours here before, simply customizing and master my team's playstyle and mechanics. So if you're looking for a really deep sports title for the original Xbox, with character customization and the same deep/complex gameplay as the Dead or Alive games, and with the master touch of famous development team and Lead Designer Itagaki, this-is-it.
