Perfect Self Defense Knife for Those of Us Who are Not Trained Knife Fighters
Make sure to buy the serrated one to maximize effectiveness. Serrated blades cut three times as deep as plain edge blades do ......It's completely idiot proof..... It opens automatically when pulled from the pocket, and all you do is slash away and you are pretty much guaranteed to inflict grievous wounds on your opponent. No training required. This thing is also made from s35vn steel...... So the serrations will hold up to pretty much everything.... including bone..... It will slash right through leather jackets, winter coats, multiple layers of clothing etc .....I have the Spyderco competitors to this knife (the civilian and the matriarch) and the Black Talon costs half as much, is made with better steel, is bigger, has better ergonomics, a stronger locking mechanism......and it pretty much craps all over the the Spydercos in Every way.

4 hour review (experienced high end knife owner)
appears to me to be a legit cold steal came sharp as heck the only blade I have ever bought I have been scared of. wave draws like a beast if you actually know how to do it draws smoother off the thumb plate than my cold steel recon 1 or ak47 very light for the the very large size (I wear large gloves with >1/4 inch slack for spec. within 4 hours playing with the blade to get accustomed to draw and hold patterns as most blade needs do it bit me once bad enough for a bandaid and poked me 3x because of how scary sharp and deceptively angled the blade was on a bottle test I'm sure you've seen online I didn't even notice hitting the bottle. maybe not as nifty as a spyderco civilian MAYBE but for sure at less than half the price with a lighter carry weight stock wave draw stronger lock and higher end steel the performance in a defence scenario won't fail you don't perfect be the death of great if it's what you can afford I promise it won't let you down

One mean blade
This is a very nice knife. It’s light and nimble but extremely sturdy. The blade came scary sharp. I definitely wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this thing. As a lefty, I love that’s it’s actually ambidextrous. My favorite knife is my Cold Steel Tai Pan, but this knife is now my close second.

Buy It!
I know the purpose of this knife is for self defense but whatever.I bought this knife because I enjoy cold steel knives and I always wanted a hawkbill style blade as well as a fully serrated knife.-This is my 3rd cold steel knife and out of the 3, the black talon 2 has the smoothest opening and closing.-The knife comes extremely sharp.-I have large hands and this knife fits very well in them. The handle is long and when grabbing the knife there is some excess handle with is great for more of a chopping grip.-So far, I’ve used this knife for package opening and some wood carving. The way the tip is curved down makes it really nice for packages and the serrations bite into wood with ease and shaved right through it.-The knife feels a lot lighter to me than it looks which is a great thing.-This is a large knife and it does take up some pocket space. After buying a kizer sheepdog XL, I realized how much I enjoy large folders. Just keep that in mind when buying the knife. It’s large.-The wave opener works flawlessly and the thumb disk is very comfortable to use. When the knife is fully opened and the lock is engaged it makes such a satisfying click that’s addicting for me and makes me fiddle it open over and over.-I showed this knife to a non knife person and they were surprised that I paid under $100 for it. They thought it looked and felt like one of my more expensive knives.-The only thing I dislike about the knife is the pocket clip. The clip is very stiff and will pretty much only slip onto Jean pockets. It’s not as easy to slip into your pocket as a majority of other knives but at least you know that there is no chance of it falling out.Overall, I absolutely love this knife. Cold steel is probably my favorite brand for budget knives. This knife has changed my views on serrations for an edc folder. I’d definitely recommend this knife for someone looking for a fully serrated edge. Whether you use this knife for self defense or edc I think you’ll be happy with your purchase.

Will redefine your sense of “sharp”.
When I (and others) say: this knife is insanely /psychotically / massively sharp blade, believe it.The tip is Needle sharp. The edge carves through light material so effortlessly, you'll do a double take to see whether you're cutting anything or just waving the blade through the air.The thin g10 handles are the most comfortable, satisfying to-the-touch G10 I've felt since Spyderco’s Golden Colorado G10 (on the likes of the military and para-military). Its light weight, but firm handles.Despite the blade length, i’ll probably only use it for light EDC. I'm not concerned with self defense, and the tip is probably too delicate for cutting into anything too robust (more than a couple of times anyway).Another person commented on the tip sticking out the end and cutting themselves. I've included a picture of the tip extended out when I push open the blade. There seems to be decent blade retention, and I can't easily replicate this push out while the knife is in my pocket.
