I bought something like this at a L0we's and the first one was defective because it leaked so I exchanged it. The second one leaked the same. Long story short---IT'S MADE TO LEAK ON PURPOSE. I'm not dumb enough to know why. Apparently there is scientific engineering and then there's the dysfunctional crap built the california way. I already have a leak hence buying a "shutoff" valve. Funny how they lecture us about saving water and then push the opposite and probably blame the public for how stupid the govt is. So I came here and bought one made by smart people and viola....it works as an actual valve where off means OFF! Works great!!

I bought this Hoimpro valve to convert a bathroom power wash into enjoyable shower. Installation was easy. Adjustment was smooth. One caveat though. If water is off and the shower handle is moved around, the water drips out and lets some air in. If the valve is left cracked just a little, the air has difficulty to escape and prevents water from coming out of the handle after the wall faucet is turned on. The valve needs to be cycled open to let the air out.Overall, it’s an excellent product for 5 star rating. I took one star off because of the confusing description. It was saying “1/2 NPT” under Size. That contradicted with “G 1/2” label on one of the images. Well, NPT threads do NOT work with flange washers. It’s a tapered thread that tightens/seals on the thread, not the washer. Only straight threads do so. All shower handles I’ve seen so far have straight threads that can be tightened to seal on shower gaskets. Because my bet was 50/50 on the fit, I removed one star from the rating.

I purchased in Europe a wall-mounted handheld shower nozzle. I found the force of the water too strong that close, only a foot or so away. The on/off lever, unfortunately, is full blast on a warm setting. For $8.99, I received this easily installed device that reduces water flow by about 30 percent. I live in Florida, so water is plentiful. There is a saving I had not considered when buying this: Reduced shower water means I'm not heating the water being wasted. For those who live in semiarid regions (listen up, California) these devices should be on every showerhead. Don't kvetch about others wasting water. If you want someone to change the world, be the one.

I didn't want to replace the valve stem and valve in a shower that will be rehabbed soon. This was installed in 3 minutes more or less and does shut the flow of all water cold. It is easy to slide on and off which is good for my disabled friend. This looks like it will last a long time. This product is also so useful to have for under the sink etc. for drips until you can fix it. The valves at Lowes and the Depot that are in line like these do not STOP the flow. These do. Good to have on hand.

Very easy to install. Does what I wanted it to do, which was to slow down flow and conserve water. It does not leak. Note: It does not control water temp at all in my application. I will add that if you don't want to decrease flow at all, this item will not allow the full pressure that existed before installing it.

Excellent for controlling the volume of water coming from the shower head. The shower valve only has full on blast cold to hot, no way to regulate water pressure. It hasn’t stuck yet but probably will over time due to hard water until it sits in vinegar as everything else needs to eventually. Shouldn’t need to adjust once the sweet spot has been found. I also see less water on the floor after the showers have been taken since it a not splashing out from behind the curtain.

I've had this item controlling the volume and on-off in the shower. This allows our master valve to stay positioned at the desired temperature. This will extend the life our our master valve. The movement is stiff such that if you have arthritic hands it may be difficult for you. I'm very happy with the valve. It should last a long time due to the solid metal construction.

I was looking for a shower valve to control the water flow from a dual output connection where I have a shower wand and the faucet on one position of the selector valve and then I have a full shower head on the other side. I did not want the shower wand to work all the time, but I want it there for those times when I want to use it. I bought what was advertised as a shower shutoff valve and it dripped constantly this valve does not drip and best of all it matches the finish of my shower fixtures.
