Easily one of my favourites. New techniques and editing, the directors of this film (Victor Fleming and King Vidor) make it a wonder to behold! Absolutely stunning filmmaking! Highly recommended to every single individual out there.

This is most certainly the best way to watch the Wizard of Oz. The movie itself needs no introduction, so this will be about the steelbook and the 4k restoration.The steelbook itself is quite good, not the best ever, but a good design nonetheless. Thee poppies are not as vibrant as in the picture, they only look that way at certain angles. Dorothy has a different finish to the rest of the steelbook, more glossy, and the title has been embossed (think thats the right term). Inside are two discs, one 4K disc with the movie, and a documentary (not in 4k), with the rest of the special features on the standard blu-ray disc. Many reviews on the internet show people recieving a digital code with this set, but it seems that the UK release does not contain that, as the only paper is an ad for the much larger collector's set.The 4K HDR is possibly the best quality of this movie you will ever see, with incredibally deep blacks and the vibrancy of the technicolor is fully depicted. For an example, you only need to look at the Wicked Witch of the West, whose jet black cloack perfectly contrasts the now visible menagerie of greens that make up her complection. Dorothy's freckles are very visible, and the only downside to this clarity is that you can really tell how much makeup was caked onto Judy Garland's face. And a personal first, I never realized that the farm help at the beginning of the movie are actually Dorothy's 3 companions during the rest of the film (although this has more to do with my ineptitude and less with the film itself).Overall, Warner Bros. have really done this film justice with this restoration, and they most certainly have struck a goldmine, as any fan would be a fool not to buy this version of the film. Steelbook optional, of course.

great Video,a classic and must for my christmas to be complete.you just have to follow the yellow brick rd into a world of magic and become a child again even if its only for a few hours.Its got some great extra features aswell and a documentary .very good value and ram packed with munchkins.

No place like . . .Bought the dvd for a 7 year old who'd just seen the play with school.She always gets scared when watching the witch , but she can't be that scared as she's.Or should I say 'we've' watched it many times(I have no option )Timeless classic , I think we've all seen this throughout our childhood over Christmasso there's plenty of happy memories that go along with it

Classic film with great songs, watched with our 6 year old granddaughter who really enjoyed it and like they do ask to watch it again soon as it Finnished

The film has been around since 1939.. there’s nothing more I can add about it. I wouldn’t stream it via amazon however it seems to be a constant problem that the voice over goes out of phase with the picture. Not just on this film but nearly every amazon download. It gets really irritating. Get it on dvd or download from somewhere else.

Classic. I’ve watched this 100s of time and it never gets old! Me and my dad love this film so much. When I saw this I HAD to get him it for his TV. He loves his DVD’s and he was so happy when he saw I had got him this. Just perfect.

The Wizard of Oz is one of Hollywood's most loved and enduring films. It is so well known that there is little I can add here except to say that this new 3D DVD release is absolutely astonishing and remarkable. One can view this film now with amazing clarity, steadiness and realism never before available. This 3D venture bodes highly for future classic Hollywood releases. One must congratulate the team for giving to us an old classic in truly modern form so we can see it afresh. 10 out of 10!
