ABZU is the soundtrack to the best selling video game of the same name (currently a top 10 seller on Steam and Sony's Playstation online store) composed by Grammy nominated composer, Austin Wintory. The game is a follow up from the creators of the best selling game, Journey. The music for Journey, also composed by Austin Wintory, was the first ever video game score nominated for a Grammy.

The Shining of Music!
The sheer layers of tones and sounds in each of the 18 tracks in this album is awesome. “To Know, Water” is life-giving and life-changing! The vocal harmonies are out of this world…loved this :-).”Heaven Was Not Named” is eerily hypnotic, like the ocean currents. “And the Earth Did Not yet Bear a Name” has such a beautiful imagery to it, I just sat there spell-bound listening to this track of intense beauty :-). “ Delphinus Delphis” has a brilliant string section with a frolicking rhythm, the joyous feel of a vast open space was all around me! “Caranx Ignobilis” with its solitary flute opening is quite potent. I loved the fairy-tale quality to it :-). “ Balaenoptera Musculus” has a soaring quality, like the unfolding of a great drama in front of the eyes….this song took me over a wide range of soundscapes with its winding and flowing melody. Beautiful! “Chaos,The Mother” has the tones of post-apocalyptic scenario, the desolate landscape and the hush after a great storm. The lone female vocal is superbly woven into the track. “Then Were Created the Gods in the Midst of Heaven” is a shimmering track of vocal harmonies so beautifully produced, they become one with the inner soul of music. Austin Wintory is a master of all he surveys, his compositions have an exploratory quality to them that leads to rather adventurous and exotic lands unknown that at once captivate and intrigue. This is an album of exceptional production quality, something that has to listened to many times, to truly appreciate the glorious amalgam of sounds :-) :-) :-)

A Marvelous and Soothing Journey into the Watery Depths
From Austin Wintory, who gave us the enchanting, Grammy-nominated score for thatgamecompany's Journey, comes a more surreal but no less wondrous musical score for the game Abzu. The game is very similar to Journey in that it's an indie game that tells its story without dialogue, but instead with a journey of sorts. Here, you swim with sharks, whales and schools of fish as you navigate the sunken depths of a world long forgotten, still holding ancient secrets waiting to be found. It's hard to put Abzu alongside Journey, because Journey was and is a true masterpiece of musical composition, but Abzu is still an astounding and glorious wonder that deserves to be heard by all, and appreciated on all fronts. CD buffs, add it to your collection. Anyone who loves video game soundtracks or movie scores needs this in their collection.

Absu, perfect in game and sound
This was a present attended for a friend. She was delighted for having this music. Me personaly, i 've bought the game and we played it together. The music really helps her to concentrate while drawling pictures. She also likes listening while travelling to work by train in the morning. The perfect gift without question.

Great Music (Soundtrack or otherwise)
I do not own a PS4 or the game, so in terms of a companion soundtrack to the game, I can't really comment. However, I can say that the music itself is gorgeous. It didn't quite leave the impression that Journey's soundtrack did, but it's still incredible. Austin Wintory continues his excellent track record as a game composer.

Wonderful music
The soundtrack to Abzu is absolutely stunning! It has beautiful composition and orchestration and goes very well with this very beautiful game. Even for non-gamers, I highly recommend it.

Great soundtrack overall
Great soundtrack overall. Love any music with water as a theme. And the orchestras give me goosebumps- so good. Only thing I got against it is that a third of the songs are waaaay too short. Like 1 min- 1:30 range short. While the song Their Waters Were Mingled Together is 10 minutes (which I thoroughly enjoyed but the only one like that). Wish they could've extended them or something (editing wise), I wouldn't have minded.

Not quite as original as Journey, but just as colorful.
