This is great last a long time

Just bought my fourth one. Each one has lasted about 1 year of daily use, forty hours each week. Each has broken the same way. The silver slide handle on the face is attached by a small metal contact point. Each one has broken at this contact point, rendering the knife unusable. To be fair, the versions without the retract feature also frequently break at the same point, though the slider handle on those is more durable because it is smaller. Though they keep breaking after a year, the auto retract function is so convenient, I will keep purchasing this one over the non-auto-retract version. It's particularly convenient if you have to use a cutter all day long.

When I first started with my company, they issued me a cutter very similar to the one I purchased. I always loved the feature that would allow me wo open a box without actually using a blade. The problem I had with the company issue one is the fact that you had to manually close it. My company later replaced them with "safer" ones but they did not have the tip on the end that allowed me to open a box without the blade. Since I worked with delicate frozen products that were to easily damaged by the blade, I refused to give mine up. However, the cutter started to get tougher to open. I decided to buy the safety version of my old company issued cutter and am very happy with it. I get the safety of the spring back closure combined with the ability to open boxes without a blade when needed.

I should not have purchased the auto retract that feature. It's too difficult for me to hold the blade out instead of it locking out. Otherwise it's very high quality.

Nifty little knife! Easy to use for opening Amazon packages :-) very durable. I think this will last for many, many years.

No good product. Not safe to use. Difficult to replace non standardized blades. Can't find replacement blades anywhere. Not even from the seller. Piece of money maker junk. Period. Don't buy. Buy America n made. I spent 20 dollars for 2. Straight to the trash. If only they were world standardized design. Better luck next time. Godspeed.

Auto retract makes this box cutter extra safe. Can't find blades for my old s2 so upgraded to this.

This is perfect for retail. Love the ease of use. Most self retracting knives are awkward and are annoying. I love this one. So far no more cuts from forgetting to retract it. Love that it stores extra blades.
