This expectedly is made of lighter plastic materials, but a solid little microscope for the price. You may not be able to get a perfectly clear image with the chunky adjustments, but you're also not paying a thousand dollars for a lab grade piece of equipment. I used this to self-verify if my dog still had intestinal worms and was easily able to identify the worm eggs.

This is a high quality student scope; however, the camera attachment is worthless. It is a fixed 2 inches wide - not adjustable. Even a small iPhone is 3 inches wide.Updated review: the camera attachment did widen enough to accomodate an iPhone .... I had to really pull on it before it opened up.

I am amazed by the high quality images this mini microscope ofers! Ive bought many "non professional" microscopes and I think so far this is the best, I would like it better if it was binocular tho...

It works great! My son loves it! I wish it came with more slides to look at.

No matter how much we have tried to see things under the 40x nose piece it's just a white spot. We have messed with the lighting, magnification, cleaned everything, sliding it slowly up and down and side to side. I think we will need to return this.Aside from that, this kit is great! Great amount of stuff, really easy to use and comes with a cover and duffle bag.I'm hoping that once we replace it the problem will be solved.**update**Literally just after I commented this I sat down and the lights dimmed with a consistent flicker and with in an hour completely dulled.

I bought this primarily because it was one of the cheaper options that could be attached to a phone. I wanted to be able to look at samples with my young children. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It is very sturdy and the adjusters that move the slide around are great. I also like that it can be lit from the top or bottom, so we can look at bugs and rocks! Great for kids!!

Friends are arguing with each other about playing with a microscope. It's a really good microscope.
