So comforting to have a taste of home. They were fresh and delivered promptly.

UPDATE:Bought 4 boxes pack. All expired 3 weeks after arrival!! Terrible. Tasteless. Dry. Crumbly. Sooo DISAPPOINTED!REVIEW FOR 2 PACK: December expiration date. Tastes fresh and so delicious! Like the buttermilk 2-box pack I bought, these rusks were whole and intact with few crumbs, just like you'd buy in the grocery store in South Africa. My family loves these when fresh and in good condition, just like these boxes of rusks are. So happy with this purchase!

Not in South Africa any longer but so glad to get the delicious rusks. Just like the old days. Crunchy on their own or fantastic as dunkers.

For a Saffa like me, sometimes you just want that easy bite with your coffee. I often make my own rusks, but it can be cumbersome enough that you dont want to do it every day. These rusks definitely did the job as a filler in a time of need. Its not like it's the same quality as home-made rusks, but I also could not detect any differences to Ouma Rusks that I would sometimes buy in South Africa. Moreover, the price were much better than the many Saffa food stores scattered around the US, even without taking into account shipping fees from the food stores. Generally I would give any Ouma rusk box a 3star rating, but this option deserves an extra star for ease of procurement.

We lived in South Africa for many years so being able to get these rusks online really brings us back to our time there. If you've never had these they are a must with tea or coffee!
