First impression, cheaply made.
This review is "first thoughts." I will update after wearing a few more times. The wide calf fits wide calves fine- no issues there. The comfort level is so-so, as in not necessarily uncomfortable, but seems like after wearing for a few hours there will be pain, because the sole is very thin right where your weight falls. Most importantly, they seem VERY cheaply made which is disappointing for the price point. The heel feels like thin plastic and the sole looks lightly glued on. I have a feeling these won't hold up.I will update.

When fracking for oil these boots oozed out of the ground
Bought these boots for my wife for Christmas as a surprise (I saw she bought a pair in a different style at thanksgiving) but had to have her try them on early because of the seller's ridiculous return policy( 20 days after shipping but it took 10 days from the shipping date to arrive). One pair smelled so bad , a cross between the back of a Chevron gas station and the tires on a new lawn mower, that we had to put them in the garage. The whole closet smelled like petroleum for 2 days and gave me a sore throat every time I got near them. Now I find that even though they are defective I have to pay for return shipping. For every women out there looking at this brand know this. They may look great in the pictures but you really get what you pay for here. If you need to dig out a septic tank I would recommend these - then you won't feel bad about chucking them out afterward.

Mismatched ?
I like the boots overall, BUT my left boot is huge at the top , while my right is tight fitting, & I have to tack it when I wear my pants over the boot, They are comfortable, & I would return them but they'll be ok, I guess, to much hassle to return. Shipping took 2wks anyway. But I'm a size 71\2, ordered an 8 & they fit fine, decent boot , if not for the size difference at the top, iI'd love these boots. But it's like one boot is regular for my skinny leg, while the other is for wide calf .but I'll make do with them. Overall , if you get both in the same leg size, they're cute boots.

Buyer beware
I guess it depends on your taste but the boot did not look like the picture. I thought that it would be a "boot" that hugs your calf a bit more. These were similar to a riding boot since the calf portion was larger than my (big) calves and the open notch in the back made them kinda flop around. Disappointed with fit (wear an 8, bought an 8) on calf but foot bed was comfortable and heel wasn't too high. Material was not bad, nor was the construction.Another thing, I do not like when companies aren't explicit about their return policy (can you return for refund, free or not free shipping). Just be aware that this company charges a surprising fee to ship unwanted product back. I wish I could find nice boots in local brick and mortar stores so I could save on the return fees when I don't like the product :(

Not what I Expected...Dissapointed
I was another buyer that bought on a lightning deal before there were any reviews. The boots are not near as nice as the picture. They feel/look much cheaper than other similar boots I've seen in department stores in the $30-50 range. Even though I got a regular calf they are still huge. The foot is true to size and fairly comfortable but I prefer a form fitting boot on the calf. If I wear the boots over my pants I still have tons of room (and I'm a shorter stocky build) and if I tuck them under my pants I look like the aliens with the backwards knee caps from the movie The Arrival. I did notice a slightly off smell but not too the extreme of other buyers. I liked the height of the heel and that it was a wide heel base. Like so many others I'd return if it didn't cost so much to do so. I strongly recommend looking for another boot.

Meh.
This boot looks amazing on the screen, but on my feet it is lacking what I look for in a great boot. The calf is too wide for me, despite ordering the regular calf width, and the toe is a bit too narrow. There is something off about the style; when they're on, they're somewhat reminiscent of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (not that high, but kind of slouchy and weird, I guess).Alas, the return shipping is outrageous, and as someone has already stated, it would be pointless considering the cost is nearly half of what I paid for them. I suppose I'll have to keep them, though they'll most likely be relegated to the back of my closet.

Thanks for making cool boots for the uniquely built!
I'm so loving these boots! I usually wear 8-8 1/2. I ordered a 9 wc. One of my legs, I had a blood clot, is 18 1/2 & the other is 17. They're a little snug on the bigger one if I put them on later in the day, but if I start with them they're perfect & comfy enough to wear all day long!

Wide Calf Girls Rejoice!
I always have serious trouble finding wide calf boots for the winter. I have skinny ankles and a size 17.5 calf. I always hunt for my shoes on Amazon, b/c the major retailers just seem to get it wrong. I took a chance on these boots based off other comments and purchased them in both brown and gray since the black was sold out and I love them! I wore them all day to my conference here in DC and haven't had any problems. Very nice for wear to work or paired with skinny jeans. It's always a struggle with boots when you have wide calvs, but these have become my staple.
