"Value Engineered" is how I would define this drawer
I have always ordered Chatsworth rack drawers in the past (and been happy with them), but they are stupid expensive. It always drove me crazy how expensive they are. So this time around I found this Tripp Lite unit which is a fraction of the price. It looked a bit cheap, but I figured I would give it a shot.So for the price it is actually pretty decent. It is a 4RU drawer and it looked like it could mount on a 2-post or four post rack (though it does not have rails that go to the back posts).I am only giving it four stars as it is pretty flimsy all around. Thin metal, only four screws for each "ear" to hold it to the rack, and only two 2RU ears even though it is a 4 RU drawer. It really won't have much weight capacity. I always end up stacking things on top of the drawers at times (boxes of gear that has not been installed yet, etc... - it needs to be sturdy!). I also really wish it was deeper as it wastes a lot of potential storage space. With all that being said, it does exactly what it needs to do for many use cases. You can see in one of the photos that I put all our spare parts at a given colo cabinet location in this drawer (spare optics, light meter, fiber cables, batteries, label maker, fiber cleaners, etc...)Given the option I would like a drawer that is slightly more expensive than this, but that also is higher quality, perhaps with rails that connect to the rear posts as well.

Sturdy Drawer. Doesn't win awards for aesthetics
Wanted a drawer for my home networking rack to act as a lockbox for various documents and personal items. I have had good experiences with Tripp-Lite items so I pulled the trigger on this one. The drawer is very sturdy and is more spacious than I expected. You could probably fit about four reams of copy paper in there to give you an idea of size. My only complaint is that it leaves a noticeable 1.5in gap between the server that is mounted above and the top of the drawer. This doesn't give you that cool flush look in your rack. I don't lose any sleep over it though so overall I am happy and would recommend the tripp-lite for a rackmount drawer in this price range

Missing mounting brackets
I've ordered this item from multiple vendors, and in both cases the item came with missing mounting brackets.
