Homerun...Amazing..Spectacular..
Jamie Mcguire TOTALLY blew me away with this sequel. She is such an amazing writer and I hope that she continues to keep writing and sharing her fascinating ideas with us. Requiem is a sequel to the first book called Providence. The story kicks off a few months after the ending of Providence. Nina is having nightmares that are haunting her everynight. Her health is quickly declining and Jared (being the wonderful fiance that he is) is on a mission to save her at any cost.Cover: The cover for this amazing book is STRIKING. At first glance, without evening knowning that this book was the second installement for the Providence series, the cover immediately drew me in. When I am on the hunt for new books to read (yes I really do this) the cover of the book is one of the determining factors that draws my attention. Let's face it, our eyes precede the summary of the book. So therefore, the cover of of a book is a important for me. Thumbs up for the cover.Plot: "Still healing from her last run-in with Hell, Nina struggles with not only her life as a Brown University student, but also as an intern at Titan Shipping, her father's company. Recurring nightmares about her father's violent death have become a nightly event. Worried about Nina's declining health, Jared must steal back Shax's book for answers. Fighting new enemies, and with the help of new friends, Jared's worst fear comes to fruition. Desperate, he is faced with a choice: Fight Hell alone, or start a war with Heaven. The plot for Requiem was really great. The pacing was much faster, there was alot more action and delimmas in the story. My only wish was that there was more romance between Nina and Jared, but that's okay because Jared's super sweet sexy self was always protective and there for Nina every step of the way.Characters: Characters are essential to a plot. A book can be amazing, but once there aren't any developed interesting characters or even supporting characters they story can fall flat. Jamie did not falter in this area.Nina is strong, intelligent, determined young lady who is finding her strength and happiness along the way. She fights for what she wants, and eventhough she doesn't have a "normal life", she still makes the best out of her situation and that's what I love about her. Jared is my hero. I love him. I really do. He is so protective, so sweet, just everything you could possibly dream of. I wish that I could see get to see Jared in action some more. The supporting characters of this book are really great too. They all have their own story. I love that about them. They are real people with real flaws, real emotions! I love them!Lasting Impression: I am anxious to see where the author takes us on her final book for the series. May 1st can't come quick enough!

Even better than the first!
This book was even better than the first and that is saying something because I LOVED the first book. I love this author so much, she writes such compelling and exciting stories. The love story was so beautiful in the first book but besides that there wasn't a whole lot to the first book. I liked that in this book you learned a lot more about the angels and demons and that it delved more into Nina's ancestry. I was completely wrapped up in the story instantly just like all her other books and couldn't stand to put it down. My heart was racing from the excitement and action and I really loved the development of the characters especially Jared's siblings. That being said there were a few things I didn't like about the book. The explanation of the dreams at the end didn't really make sense, why would he(Gabe) have made such an obvious dream that seemed to scream at her to get the book when he(Gabe) claims at the end he never wanted her to go get it but that he was trying to warn her not to fulfill the prophecy. I just feel like there should have been a better way for him to tell her that and it never really explained why he didn't. I also didn't like that it never explained how she floated and crawled up the wall. The thing that really bothered me the most though was the hinting at the end to a Claire/Ryan relationship. While I absolutely love both characters and actually think them as a couple are adorable it wasn't quite believable. They keep talking about how Jared and Nina and the fact that she is not only his Taleh but a human is a very unusual/rare romance, so much so that there have only been, what 7 since the beginning of time I think it said? So you expect me to believe that with there being so few since the beginning of time that all of a sudden there are 2 at the same time not to mention within the same family? It just seemed a bit far fetched to me and more of a desperate attempt to fix the strained relationship of Nina and Ryan than anything else. The kindle version also had a noticeable amount of typos but that is not the writer's fault so I didn't let it affect my rating. Despite the things that bothered me about the book overall I still loved it and it was incredibly well written and this series is still one of my favorites of all time.

Very pleased with the sequel!
Fantasy isn’t a genre I generally read but I’ll read whatever Jamie writes.I am amazed at this series. What a fantastic imagination this came from. The story is amazing. Even though it’s fantasy, it’s all believable. The story is without break. It’s seamless. It’s just fantastic!I love Nina and Jared. I love their love for one another and their bond. I love Claire and Ryan and especially loved where their story goes in this book. Everything just felt better as a group at the end of this book. Kim is growing on me. And I appreciate Beth and her “regularishness”.In parts of this I wanted Nina to stop being so darn whiny but the deeper in I got the more I understood. She never asked to be any of the things that she turns out to be. She just wanted to be a regular college student with a regular boyfriend but oh my how that doesn’t exactly work out like she hoped it would. But with The Ryel’s behind her, she’s got an army.Fantastic book where the angels fight the demons and you never know how things are going to go.Love me some Little Corn island. And loved this book. Looking forward to the last book. Can’t wait!!!

Just as, if not better than Providence
Wow, what a sequel!!I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, the big issue in Providence had been resolved and so I wondered where this one would go. Requeim has an even bigger issue than the last and the story manages to remain strong throughout (if not stronger)The humour injections from Providence have carried through into this book along with fantastic character development, Claire and Bex (Jared's brother and sister) take on a bigger role in this book and have become both funny and very likeable big additions from their minor roles in Providence. Nina & Jared's actual relationship (physically not emotionally) has been put to the back somewhat (because they are so preoccupied with what is going on affecting them and their lives) and so the development of other characters is crucial and adds extra interest, especially that of Claire and Ryan.Hooked from the first page to the last, my only annoyance is that I have to wait for the third installment to be released and can't jump in immediately!! This book has more action than Providence and is very possibly even better, though I also loved Providence. If you have read Providence, then I can't stress enough how much you should read Requiem!!

Even Better Than The First!!
I have literally just finished reading this book and I'm on such a high after it! It was all fantastic. I loved the first book and this one was even better! You must read it. I cannot wait for the next one which is in the post as I write this. It's quite a bit shorter than the first one, but it suits it, as the story can't run on for too long otherwise it might drag and be a bit boring. I loved this book.I loved 'Beautiful Disaster' and I am loving this trilogy! I just can't wait to read what Jamie McQuire writes next! This trilogy would be a perfect film trilogy. I can just picture it now ;)I love all the relationships in this book. You really get in to the story. I think the humour is great. I think it's good how even after the first book when you know so much about the 'supernatural side', you still keep learning more and more! This book is great. The story gives it real meaning. FANTASTIC! 5 STARS!

2nd time around just as good
Like the first instalment I read this when it was first released and loved it! 2nd time around i think was even better, it was familiar but the details certainly impacted more.If you are reading this you are already a Jamie McGuire fan and don't need me to sell it, they sell themselves.

Heavenly
I am totally blown away by the Providence trilogy so far, Book 1 totally amazing and book 2 even better! didnt think it could get better but it proved me wrong, the story intensified with amazing characters and just falling deeper in love with the Ryel family (especially Jarred! I mean who wouldn't! <3) I read most of this book with my hand over my mouth and being scared to find out the next part in case it wasn't what i wanted to happen, it did make me well up a few times i can tell you, I have already started the last book Eden and cant put it down but at the same time not wanting to read too fast so it wont come to an end.... gotta go got a book to read! BUY IT you will LOVE IT

Series should finish here!
The second book in the Providence trilogy is good. It's interesting how the love triangle develops. However Jared and Nina, the main characters are not my favourites in the book so I feel that any questions I had regarding them were answered by the end of this book. I won't be reading the third book. This may be due to me wanting a happy ending! This book was much heavier with all the supernatural nonsense and so it lost me a little bit. I'm still a fan of Jamie McGuire but this book series was too supernatural for me. The romance is good!
