... a kayak fisherman out of Charleston SC and I recommend this anchor for kayak fishermen
I am a kayak fisherman out of Charleston SC and I recommend this anchor for kayak fishermen. I have anchored in the grass, on a beach, and in deeper water on different types of bottoms and structures. I have only gotten it stuck a couple of time and each time i broke the zip tie and it came right out. This a lightweight, easily stored anchor with multiple different uses. Great Product.

Not for offshore
The anchor arrived quickly and I was very excited to give it a try. I fish offshore and in a inlet with a strong tidal current. It took several tries to set the anchor in the inlet, but it did hold. However offshore it would not hold where I have always had no problem with my old grappling anchor. I bought this one to replace an anchor my son made for me( I lost that anchor when my anchor line broke). I'm not happy at all with this anchor. I've tried adjusting the tines to different angles and it just want 'find' the bottom and grip. I'll go to a GPS position(in 75 feet of water) where I know there are rocks and rough bottom, put the anchor out with 6 feet of chain with 200 feet of rode and I drift off as if I didn't have an anchor. If you're looking for an offshore or anchor in deep water then I don't recommend this anchor. I have a small boat- 18 feet- and bought the medium one. While waiting for my son to make me a new anchor I will try to add some weight to the Grappler, but I don't have much confidence in it. And the price is too high.I rarely write bad reviews on products, but I felt compelled to write about this anchor because I would not trust it in a safety situation.

Wreck anchor
The Grappler works, but the tines fail over time as they are secured to the center cylinder (shank) of the anchor by epoxy. They should be welded to the outer shank.Doug

Not a happy fisherman
Weld on tines end loop is not welded tight and I cannot attach anchor chain to that end and zip tie to the main loop. Hoping to find someone who can weld aluminum to fix it. Did not expect this type of workmanship from a $100.00 anchor. Would not recommend this product to my boating/fishing friends.
