Love the Guys, but This isn't 5-Star material
I pre-ordered this CD as soon as I saw it was going to come out. Full disclosure, I'm a huge fan, saw the concert in the Fall, own the first 2 discs & DVD. That said, this compilation isn't as good as it's predecessors. To begin, Damien has obviously grown into his adult voice and in sounding quite mature, vocally, yet is given two 50's/60's era sappy over-produced solo pieces ("Breaking up is hard to do" & "Happy Birthday Sweet 16"). The female background is so grating I've only actually listened to each song once.Keith is given a stronger position with the opening piece, but the Wichita Lineman seems like it was selected only to provide a stage-y action prompt for the concerts. Even the opening, The Homes of Donegal, though a good song, doesn't ring true to Keith as presented in "Loren & I" which he cowrote. As for the other three men, it's hit and miss. George's remake of the crappy 80s song "500 miles" is inauthentic and ridiculous. I was hoping against hope that he would sing the 500 miles of Peter Paul and Mary fame, but alas. Paul's remake of the very recent "You Raise Me Up" is also odd because it continues to be a hit for Josh Groban. Even though he sings it well, Paul's version will never be the definitive version. Final note of criticism, Ryan's "Every Breath you Take" also seemed too produced and breathy - as though created for a stage production and not the album.Negativity aside, there are shining beacons of "classic" (if such a word can be associated with such a young group) Celtic Thunder. Specifically "Because We Believe" "Take me Home" "Working Man" and "Appalachian Roundup"It seems as though the producers forced the guys into creating another album too soon, although doubtless fans were clamoring (myself included) for more. These guys have worked nonstop for the past year with three albums, two DVDs, two PBS specials w/ fund-drive appearances, and Fall '08, Spring '09, and Fall '09 American/Canadian tours. Creatively, these guys should be given more breathing room and an allowance for more organic growth - but alas, this is just an Amazon review. This reviewer is looking forward to the long-promised individual albums many of the guys claim to have been working on as part of their Celtic Thunder contracts... but don't rush it like this album seem to have done.My condensed advice - cherry pick from the album via MP3s because there are gems, but they're definitely in the rough.

Celtic Thunder is a wonderful group for people of all ages
There are plenty of songs on you tube if you have never heard them before. They are a group of men and each one has a beautiful voice and is great at what they do.The first time I heard them sing was when they were on PBS and I was clicking through the channels on the tv - but I stopped as soon as I heard them sing. I have been a devoted fan since that first song. They have never disappointed me. When you see them live or watch a DVD, you'll notice that the audience is from the young to the old and all points in-between.I love the sound of their songs, I love the song selection, I love the production of each number ... they are just awesome. If you have heard them before, you won't be disappointed with any of their CDs or DVDs. If you have never heard them before, check them out and listen to a little clip or watch something on you tube - you won't be disappointed. Then pick anything they have done and you will find yourself smiling or singing along ... or there may be a song or two that will bring a tear to your eye because it touched you. This group never disappoints.

Celtic Thunder
This past Summer I had the pleasure of hearing the group, Celtic Thunder, on PBS while flipping through the channels trying to find anything to watch that would catch my interest, as there wasn't much on that particular night that I wanted to watch. I heard the music playing and words to songs from a group I'd never heard of and they were singing a catchy tune so I stopped to watch the show and fell in love with the music. I could actually understand all the words they sang and the entire show was very entertaining with very talented men singing together.I went onto Amazon.com and found the group listed with many CDs and DVDs to choose from and I chose my first CD of Celtic Thunder recordings and have played it in my vehicle. The music is beautiful and the songs are catchy tunes sung by different men with gorgeous voices that stay in your mind even after the songs are over. I also ordered a DVD and another CD of their songs and haven't been disappointed yet with any songs. I will continue to look through the Amazon Catalog of Music by Celtic Thunder and buy which ones I want without regret as I think they are very good and will be around for many years to come.

Good CD
This is a really good CD it's more polished than the first two. However, it DOES NOT have all of the songs from the concert DVD. The only repeat song that is in it is "Steal Away." Damian does the solo parts of it and Paul doesn't do the high parts in the chorus so I actually like this version better. In a way I'm glad that Paul has left the group because to me his voice seems more suited to light opera than to regular songs. "Heritage is his last CD/Concert with the Celtic Thunder group.Damian has really matured as a performer and not just his voice. He seems more relaxed in this CD/Concert. He does 2 teen songs, but it's not silly as "Puppy Love" and "Young Love" were in the first concert. There is a really good instrumental called "Appalachian Round-up that really shows the Irish folk style. Fiddles, Guitar, drums and piano all melded together and it really makes you want to get up and dance. This is one of Celtic Thunder's best.

I love Celtic Thunder
I miss George Donaldson so very much, but his music lives on and the others are great, George was just my favorite because his accent was always so prevalent and always so heartfelt!

Celtic Thunder
Good CD although too many solo artists, when the "5 as 1" sounds better for this talented group of singers
