We have started replacing the old "Expo" markers with these refillable versions because the Expo markers dry out too quickly (even just sitting on the shelf). The refillables have caps that are a little easier to remove (and recap - a big deal at high altitude and in very dry climate). In over a year of using these, only one has been used to the point where it needs a refill. Also, on some whiteboards the Expo markers will be hard to erase if the marks are left too long (>1-2 weeks). We have not had that issue with these markers. Highly recommended.

These markers are perfect. I love the dryness right after writing, very easy to erase leaving no spots. The sizes are perfect as well as the brightness are unstable. These markers function very well.

These markers come in wit the essential colors like blue, green, and red.What's great about these markers is the chisel tip. It lets me write in different styles, from bold to fine lines.Here's a big plus: these markers are refillable. That means when they run out, I don't have to toss them away. I just refill them, and they're good as new! This is awesome because it saves money and helps the environment.But here's a little heads-up: sometimes, the colors can take a second to dry. So, if you're super quick with your hand, you might get a little smudge. But it's no big deal, as long as you're a bit patient.Even with that tiny thing, these markers are still a hit. They're long-lasting, eco-friendly, and make everything on the whiteboard look cool and colorful. So if you're looking for some great markers for school or just for fun, these PILOT V Board Master Markers are definitely worth checking out!

I teach math and have found these markers to be so much better than the traditional single-use Expo markers. The Pilots write bold, clear and smooth. No longer do my students struggle to read the board. But, you've got to keep a bunch of refills on hand, and always have a spare, full marker ready. If the marker starts to look a little weak, I see from the clear ink reservoir that it's empty and then quickly grab a spare mid-lesson. After class I refill it.Personally, I find the bullet style easier to use than the chisel. With the chisel, you have to rotate to the correct angle, and angle your hand to get the flat surface. With the bullet, any angle and rotation works well. Also, the bullet style improves with age because the tip flattens out, which makes for a bigger, bolder line on the board. The box says replace after 4 refills, but I'm already on to at least 15 refills per marker and they just keep getting better.You'll want to shop around and plan ahead when buying refills. I've seen individual refills vary from a little over a buck to over 7 bucks. Boxes of 12 refills can be found for less than 10 bucks, so that's definitely the way to go. I get mine on-line from a big box office store (Office Depot). Amazon prices for the refills seem to fluctuate a lot--sometimes cheap, sometimes ridiculously expensive. Again, plan ahead and keep plenty on hand.On the colors, I mostly use black, then emphasize key concepts with green and red. Occasionally I use blue, so that's kind of optional. I never use orange because it looks too much like red, so have completely removed it from the whiteboard tray. To minimize confusion, only keep 1 of each color on your tray at a time, and immediately remove a marker that needs to be refilled. I keep the spares in a box next to the whiteboard for easy access.Enjoy!

I can't stand Expo. They're everywhere, but they're expensive, don't last long, leave smears when erased, and they aren't as vibrant as you would think (black is fine, but red sucks). These Pilot V Board Master markers are amazing! I've never seen a prettier shade of orange for a white board marker. The red is a true red instead of a light red. They wipe sooo clean! Even the black wipes beautifully. They last longer too. And while it says 4 refills per marker, I just use scissors to cut off the messed up felt. Some of my older markers are on their 7th or 8th refill. Now, if you need that perfect precision, then trimming the felt will probably not work for you. I hope there will be more colors one day like turquoise, purple, etc. This brand needs to be in stores to compete against Expo. They're super easy to change the refills too and have illustrated instructions for how to change them on the actual marker's label. I'm definitely going to buy some red, green, and orange refills to get ahead of the game (I have some blue and black ones already since I've had those colors longer). I was hesitant about this multi-pack simply because I couldn't find the orange refills on Amazon. Now that I do, they're mine!

I love the concept of these refillable markers. However, they need to come in different colors. I’m a college professor and I wanted a more environmentally friendly option for my classroom. They fit the bill in that regard: about 90% less waste than traditional markers. But! And this is a big BUT. The colors are terrible. I have to adjust for red/green color blindness and you get one red and one green marker in the pack. Then at least 30% of my students reported that the orange is difficult to see from the back of the classroom. That leaves two usable markers in the pack: blue and black. I want to be able to order these in individual colors and I’d also like purple and brown to be options. If those options become available I’m 100% in.
