Great Speaker & Night Light, Other Features Just OK
Bought this to finally replace my old ipod-dock alarm clock. I had a specific purpose I wanted it for - a bedside alarm clock and night time music player - and it's not quite the best at this, but it'll do. I'll review the features separately.Bluetooth Speaker:It works well. It's very loud, and connects easily to my phone. If I want it quieter than volume 1 (which is too loud for sleeping ambiance music/sounds), I can turn down the volume on my phone. Sound quality is good, but at lower levels you can hear the soft humming of the speaker. However, using the USB/MicroSD option this speaker is WAY too loud for nighttime ambiance. For the past week I've tried various things to muffle the sound, eventually sticking with simply turning it upside-down on my nightstand lol. But it was still too loud. I've had to take all my tracks into Audacity and manually edit them to be quieter. This will work now but it was a pain. Even listening to music in the daytime, I never have to turn it up past around 5. I wish I could just turn down the volume more.Night Light:Not bright enough to read by or anything but it's good to light up the room a bit if you need to get up in the middle of the night. The lowest setting is too bright for me to keep it on all night, but it may be good for children.Clock:Sometimes it stays on and sometimes it doesn't...Haven't quite figured out the triggers yet. When it's plugged in, I think it always stays on. The light from the clock face alone is much too bright for a dark room at night...I have to block it while I sleep which kind of...defeats the purpose. The display is visually pleasing aside from that though.Alarm:It only has one alarm and it can't be set for M-F or Sat-Sun, just all or nothing. Would be fine but it's a pain to turn on and off since there's no dedicated switch, you have to press a bunch of buttons and go through the menu. When it goes off, the difference between turning it off and snoozing it is not very clear. To turn the alarm off you tap the top twice, and tap once to snooze. Either way, the little alarm bell on the screen blinks once...I never know if it's on or snoozed until it does or doesn't play again 5 minutes later. Also, I've had this for about a week and one morning the alarm straight up didn't go off, even though it was set to "on". Haven't had this problem since I've started keeping it plugged in overnight though. In these ways, it fails pretty heavily as a nightstand alarm clock. You can customize the alarm sound in a couple ways though. Either have it connected the bluetooth all night (if bluetooth stays on???) and let your phone alarm play though it, or plug in a USB or MicroSD with a folder called "Alarm" in the root. You can put a song in there...you can put more than one but it will always play the first one.USB/MicroSD Player:This is why I got this primarily. I don't want my sleep playlist on my phone, mixing with all the other songs, so I threw them on my iPod in the past, and not they're on a microSD in this. To play music from it,there's a way to get to USB/SD mode from the buttons on top but you have to go through the confusing abbreviations on the menu. I haven't memorized them yet so I've just been pushing the SD out then back in, and it starts playing automatically. Anyway, it works like it should and I'm happy with this feature overall. My one gripe with this specifically is that it doesn't seem to play my songs in alphabetical order. I don't know what order it's using but it's always the same and it's not alphabetical lol. Also it seems like sometimes it plays all the songs indefinitely, and sometimes it stops after playing each song once...? It tends to wake me up if it keeps playing (since it's so loud!), but it does have a sleep timer you can set for 30, 60, or 120 minutes.Battery Life:Seems good to me. It was charged out of the box and lasted a couple days. Now I just leave it plugged in though, unless I want to move it with me around the house. The slot for the micro USB charge at the back is a bit weird though. The cable that came with it fits nicely, but my samsung charger falls out too easily from it. The included cable is kind of short, so it'd be nice to use a different cable, but not that big a deal since it just charges on my nightstand.Structure:I really like how it looks, and it seems to be made well. Feels sturdy. The buttons and tap function work as they should, the display is clear, and the included cords work. I've only had it a week though, so we'll have to see if it lasts.

Didn't suit my needs, but could work well for others.
I purchased this light/clock/radio/alarm because I liked the combination of functions, and I liked that I could use my own alarm sound (by uploading the song to a microSD card - not included). I liked a lot of its abilities but I ultimately ended up returning it.I have issues with looking at my phone too much before bed, so I've been trying to figure out a system where I can have an alarm next to my bed and charge my phone in the other room. I tend to get used to alarm sounds over time, so I wanted one that I could change the alarm sounds/customize them and I liked the idea of it being a bedside lamp.Things I liked about it: I could charge it using the miniUSB and then it held a charge well for several days. I did not use the bluetooth function, so I cannot comment on its reliability or function. I liked that it is a touch lamp, but it is far too bright for me as a bedtime lamp (I use my redlight setting on my headlamp before bed and I have a lamp that is one of those salt rock lamps, so it's a dimmable yellow soft light. This lamp was too bright and white for me.) Because this lamp was so bright, even on its lowest setting, I did buy some red adhesive transparent film to cut out and put around it - that worked really well! I ultimately ended up removing it so that I could return the lamp. The alarm was easy to set. The clock was easy to toggle back and forth between 24-hr and 12-hr time display. The speaker is loud and nice, the volume is easily adjustable. It is wonderful that the clock display turns off after a couple of minutes, but you can also set it to stay on. It's easy to go through all of the different modes on the speaker. I also liked how compact it is - my bedside table is small and it didn't take up much room at all. It isn't small enough to fit in a pocket or anything, but it's a small multifunctional cube.Things that were annoying - the snooze function worked one time and then never again (you're supposed to tap the top 1x for sleep and 2x to turn the alarm off). It seems like other people had this issue too, where the alarm just turned off instead of snoozing. The other problem was that the alarm sound stopped rotating and was the same sound each morning. The thing that ultimately made me return it was that the alarm volume is NOT adjustable and it is VERY LOUD. Like even with the nice nature bird sounds I would wake up in a panic, even though I sleep with earplugs! I tend to take a lot of time in the morning to wake up, but with this I woke up instantly, which might sound great, but not when it's because you're in a panic. I tried covering it with many different things - a large heavy book, a pillow, a cloth and a book on top...nothing muffled it enough to make it pleasant to wake up to. (Please see below update for additional information)Update: My initial lower rating (3 stars) was because there are just too many things that I had to modify or work around. (That said, it seems like many people got it and really enjoy it! I would be clear on your own needs and wants and see if this is the right choice for you). Since writing my review, the manufacturer contacted me in an effort to help ameliorate some of my complaints about the product. Though I am still returning the product, the ideas were helpful and the customer support was communicative and effortful, so I changed my rating to 4 stars because of that.Regarding the loud alarm: the person who contacted me said that a person could modify the volume on the song/sounds that they upload to the microSD card so that the uploaded song has a lower volume (so that is it not so loud as an alarm). Secondly, they also said that any of the buttons on top of the device (except volume+/-) stop the alarm. Though I don't know how this affects the snooze function, it can be helpful to know/be aware of!
