(ISC)2 CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional Official Study Guide

7th Edition is far more cheaper, But this is expensive compared to that, But cheaper compared to others. Also only guide apart from official CBK which covers new revision as of now(at least in amazon india in kindle format). I was not sure if purchasing this is necessary as new revised april 15 CBK addition is comparatively low..I have read 7th edition, currently going through this book(8th edition)... Language/layout in this book feels simpler than the 7th ed(maybe because i already read 7th ed). most of the examples have been update to latest scenarios .. Practice question have also few updates..Its like 80-90% old book content. I am happy with the purchase..As for exam its is totally different beast, There is no practice questions out there which can prepare you for the exam fully. Experience matters in the field . Also Question will be worded in a way you might curse isc2 "why would the do this!" .. Read through the book think like a manager when using the book(what would a manager/senior executive do). use there resource flashcard practice question etc..How to prepare(at-least i found helpful - people have different ways that works)1) Use sybex book2) Use flash card, Memory maps etc3) Reading should be 50% other 50% do practice question, Understand the concept behind the question well.4) Eric Conrad 11th hour and some audio books (Shon Harris(RIP) old but still good(highly detailed), Simple cissp audio book is also good - there are many others)

I achieved CISSP certification using this book as the main source.The language is very accessible, very useful to understand the large content.The proposal of the book gives you the content(8 domains) split and grouped in 21 organized chapters, with text, summary, essential exam info, writing labs and training questions.I recommend it and thanks a lot to the Authors

I passed my CISSP test on 2nd June. I used SYBEX official study guide and official practice tests as a main source for study. I read the official study guide cover to cover twice and did domain wise practice tests (100+ questions in official practice test book) twice as well. Once I felt ready, did the 4 full practice tests and scored 75%, 85%, 83% and 80% respectively. I also did a quick glance of Eric Conrad’s study guide and used the 11th hour book during last week in addition to Sunflower PDF notes. I passed the test right after 100 questions in 2 hours and 7 minutes. Key to success: prepare thoroughly and don’t rush during the exam, focus on accuracy versus speed. I hope this review is helpful for anyone preparing for the exam.
