Fox All Week (Penguin Young Readers, Level 3)

Cute book!
Fox books are so funny! The illustrations are great and the stories are good, too. There's a short story for each day of the week. Easy to read and doesn't rhyme or repeat things. This book DOES show characters smoking and the consequences of smoking, if you are concerned about what you show to your kids. Still a good book. :) I would recommend it to anyone.

Not like the other in the fox series
Fox goes through a series of his typical week. However, one particular day he is introduced to…smoking??I loved the series myself when I was a child, but never remember that particular part of a book in this series. My son loves the series, but we had a conversation about how smoking at this age is ridiculous and skip over it when we’ve re-read it.Other books in the series we all get a kick out of Fox’s mishaps and over confidence.Overall, as far as the series goes..my son was WILLING to read them and that was what really mattered to me. He was in 1st grade at the time and HaTEd reading..so this humor was just what we needed. Don’t write off the rest of the series.

I know lots of children who really like Fox.
Bought the whole set when one of my 2nd graders fell in love with them. We were so sad to look up the author to find he had died years ago. We wanted to write and thank him for these books!

Fox All Week - another great Marshall book
The Thursday chapter about the cigar sampling was not a problem at all with my second grade boy, but rather the basis for a discussion about addictions.

Cute series for primary grades
Have enjoyed following fox's adventures with two of my little grandsons who enjoy this series. I have gotten most of these books.

Cigar smoking
I was floored to have purchased these for our Kindergarten students to read in reading group- and the cigar smoking and the one character that decided not to give up smoking ... I wish I had known.

We found this book hilarious!
My daughter home schools and has three boys ages 7-11. We found the sarcastic wit and stories to be really funny. For example...when the gang throws away their tunafish sandwiches because they don't sound appealing...followed by the line "This will teach Mom." Of course they were hungry later in the day. The humor is really subtle, but when read aloud using the appropriate voice inflections, it really had all of us in stitches. :) Clever writing. I wish I would have stumbled upon this series back in the 80's when my kids were little. So glad that my grandkids are enjoying them now.

It's a great self-read book for a 6 year old
The book has a great story albeit some parts are a bit inappropriate like the animals smoking a cigar. However, it merges with the story line. My daughter was in fits of laughter when she read it. Seems like it's a little basic for a 6 year old, but it's a great starter book for kids who are beginning to read on their own.
