Really working out well for us after a few years
We have only flown kites a few times since getting the Castakite but I have to say it's terrific when we do use it. My son was struggling mightily with a Shark-shaped kite maybe 50-60 feet up in a quite strong wind over San Francisco Bay and having the time of his life. He found it hard work but achievable to reel in the kite against the wind-- he enjoyed it as if he were reeling in a real shark :) Far, far better experience than wrestling with the little plastic handle that came with the kite, and a lot safer too, I can promise you. (Got a nasty cut on my hand trying to deal with kite line in strong wind before I got the Castakite.)If a kid is like 4-5 years old maybe it won't work out, but 7 and up my son has had a blast with it.Side note: When we bought it there was no claim that a kite was included. I now see some other sellers bundling a cheap kite with the Castakite; can't comment on those.

No kite
It is missing the "Includes a 29" kite and 150' of high-quality kite string". Not sure it is worth the hassle of sending back for not having the kite. Posting this to hopefully gain the attention that the description needs to be changed or kits shipped more completely.

Did not include the kite.
The description says this includes a 29 inch kite. I've also watched the YouTube videos about this product that say a kite is included. I ordered 2 and neither one had a kite in the package.

NO KITE INCLUDED.
I too had the "no kite included" issue. (I'm not sure if there is string or not, but there appears to be...) Not like the seller isn't aware of the issue after several complaints! Change the description already. In my case, this was a Christmas gift. Here it is, arriving December 23rd, no kite, and no time to go buy one. Sort of kills the concept... I'd make this one star but the caster does look cool...

Small learning curve.
Worked fairly easily, needed some small learning curve. Eight and 10-year-olds enjoyed it.

No more tangling with kite lines. EASY to use!
Made it SO much easier to deal with a kite! My 6.5 yr. old loves it, and his parents do too. No more tangling with kite lines.

This kit contains a 29 inch kite, the launcher and 150 feet of string so you are already for fun as soon as you unpack the box. This is a kite launcher with a fishing pole design. The Castakite is the perfect device for kids and kiting novices. My son discovered that you can launch just by pushing a button, and then reel back in like he just caught a trout. Very easy and lots of fun. Flying a kite is now a breeze.Castakite’s founder, Matthias Hackett, is reportedly an avid fly fisherman. He wanted a way to inspire kids to play outdoors and thought the lure of easy kite flying would do the trick. Using his fishing rod for inspiration, he made getting a kite in the air as easy as pressing a button and it does inspire my son and his friends to go outside if there is the slightest breeze.Castakite is Made in the USA, and it comes fully assembled It also works with your own kite. Without having to worry about tangles, burns from strings, and, especially, crashing kites, this form of easy kite flying is sure to keep you hooked. I love it because when we go to the park, the kids have a lot of fun and I can either take photos of them laughing and playing or read a book, but I am not untangling kite string.

Update review of product and shipper response..
Update....had an issue here with description and Amazon and seller got involved and created a wonderful customer experience.Could not be happier with resolution and my grandaughter is really enjoying the product.. Will purchase again
