Huh, who’da thought?
I was beyond skeptical when I opened the box.Zero instructions made for some improvisation... I imagined batter squeezing out of the sides when I closed the handle and going down inside my stove top. Nope. I put foil on the burner (just in case), turned the stove to about 4 (medium-low?) and set it on top to preheat.Sprayed it with Pam (this turned out to be a MUST) and waited... they were fluffy and lightly brown and not one ounce got out of the waffle plates (and I filled one side all the way to the edge before closing and latching). It couldn’t be a simpler set up.The handles are very close to the plates, so keep them away from the burners or I’m sure they’d melt.I won’t be using foil on the burner next time ☺️👍🏻👍🏻

Makes great mochi ricecake waffles
After the wonder of the TV doing things to my mother, I decided to buy one to satisfy my family's curiosity and confusion; They did not know you can make waffles out of ricecake! I have had it more than 10 years ago and I knew how it worked; just a simple iron that can make waffles stuffed with rice cake, and after constant flip and rotation, it will spit out nice and crispy rice cake waffles. And lo and behold. It did exactly what I bought it for, doesn't require a lot to clean up, and doesn't require a whole lot of maintenance. you can put a little non-stick spray on it to make it even slicker, though I didn't need it much. My only gripe is I wish you can take the iron apart to be able to wash it separated, instead of making it ugly 90 degrees and stays locked. Or maybe there is a way to separate when washing is required; but there's no instruction and I haven't quite figured out how yet...
