If you change your own oil, this is a must-have tool. I have changed the oil on my cars many, many times, and almost invariably get oil on my hands as I remove the oil pan drain bolt. This tool allows me to remove the bolt while keeping my hands clean. I also don't have to drop the bolt into the drain pan only to fish for it and draw it out later. It's also very helpful if the bolt is still too hot to touch.

This feels well made, the magnet is strong enough it holds itself in place in my chest drawer. Makes a great addition to the DIY or hobbyist. Shipping was fast too.

This is a little more premium in price compared to comparable designs on Amazon, however this has two flat sides to contact the drain bolt hex faces and allow for better twisting torque application during bolt removal. Makes a big difference for reducing mess and not losing the drain bolt in a big oil pain that is quickly filling with scalding hot engine oil. I’m satisfied with my purchase for driveway oil changes.
