A truly outstanding backpack!
This is a serious bit of kit at a great price!I have tried many different backpacks for daily use and this is by far the best so far in terms of simplicity, robust construction, weather resistance and deterring theft. As regards construction its really well made and the materials are thick and tough. I can see this bag easily lasting a number of years in daily use. Its great not to have to fiddle about with a separate rain cover to keep contents dry too!I really dont like the numerous pockets, zips and fiddly bits of conventional bags. They all seem way too complicated to me with many points of potential failure. This bag is just so simple consisting mainly of just one main compartment.I carry small items for daily use in see through plastic travel cubes that stack in the main compartment which I find way easier than having things distributed across many small compartments. There is a small external zipped pocket that I use for doggy bags and a disabled toilet access key. Inside there is a laptop sleeve which I use occassionaly for this purpose but most of the time it simply accomodates my diary. The only other internal pocket - a small zipped one - carries medication and various paperwork/ID cards. Everything else goes in the main compartment - nice and simple. The straps and padded back are excellent. Very supportive and comfy, I can walk for miles and suffer no discomfort. The closure system is simple, deliable and robust. An excellent bonus is that it is a really effective anti-theft system. It would be really difficult for a thief to undo the clips, unroll the top and pull apart the velcro closure at the opening without the wearer noticing. Most thieves will divert their attention to conventional bags with zips etc I think. In summary this is an outstanding bag and something of a bargain at around £40.

Waterproof, but not tested at sea.
Does exactly what I wanted it to - keeps my stuff dry when cycling to work. Given I'm only using it for cycling I haven tried the bag in any boat or sea-related activity, but based on how it performed the last time it rained it looks like it would survive this no problem. I got the large version and it's enormous. Probably slightly too big for me, but the 25L one would have been too small for laptop, work clothes, lunch, raincoat, etc.I have two relatively minor issues:1. It needs more pockets inside! One lsptop compartment is nowhere near enough for the bag to be 100% useful for commuters; and2. The front pocket is pretty small and the feature of it being see-through 'so you can see your phone messages' is in my mind a major security risk. Nothing says please follow and mug me quite like a see-through pocket showing off your mobile phone, wallet and everything else small enough to fit in it!I've solved the above issues by putting my smaller items in a separate lightweight bag inside the main bag and covering the see-through 'window' with reflective tape.All-in-all though very happy with it and it's ideal for what I wanted it for.

Great (so far)
4 Stars because I haven't had it long enough to give 5 Stars. It's as good, if not better, than I hoped it would be. It feels well made and fit for purpose.I wore it for over 4 hours in a proper torrential downpour (complete with floods, transport cancellations, etc) and not one drop of water made it into this bag.The missing Star is there because I haven't owned it long enough to see what it's like in life's many and varied situations, nor have I owned it long enough to assess it's durability.I will come back and reassess it regarding the 5th Star once I've used it for a good while. It will be properly tested by me because it's now autumn, with winter fast approaching, so from now on I will now use it as my 'everyday' backpack.Note: my autocorrect & spellcheck have lives of their own somplease excuse any & all errors.

Happy despite being larger than expected
Despite being larger than I wished or expected I am nevertheless really happy with this backpack. It's very good quality and looks great. Also the front zipped pocket is large enough for my bike lock and cable. Haven't yet been in a downpour but I'm confident it will keep my stuff dry.

This bag is insane!!
Bought this bag for hiking nearly a year ago. Cannot recommend this enough. Takes heavy loads, 100% waterproof, comfortable back padding and adaptable. The seems are very tough and can handle what ever I put in there. This bag is a companion on my travels, work and camping. This is the Dr, Martenes of bags. Can see this lasting over 10 yrs easily. Thankyou for producing such an amazing bag, well worth the money!

It is really awesome, really comfortable and I love that even though ...
I have needed a new bag for about 15 years. It took me ages and ages to choose this. It is really awesome, really comfortable and I love that even though it fits loads in it - if its not full you can really squash it down and it is quite small. i lead a lot of different and lives and this sits between them all really well- I am an actress, writer, theatre producer but also do dayjobs and I need something that can look smartish in an outdoorsy practical way, goes with everything and keeps my laptop dry. My only wish was there were two zips to get in to pocket on the front- one either side would be even handier but basically I love it.

Great bag, Perfect size.
The backpack hasn't had its true test yet, which will be this coming Christmas while we're in Vietnam.Everything about it looks great so far. My husband is currently breaking it in on his motorcycle to work. It was just a tad stiff at first which is to be expected of a watertight bag.Gave it a four only because some of the waterproof material is fraying around the clear plastic window. It's not the stitching at least. Just something minor and cosmetic. So I would even give it a 4.5 if I could.I've taken a picture of the fraying. Or at least tried. It's really not that bad.

Forever the best!
I first got the 25L dry backpack in 2016 because it was less expensive than all the others I’d found, and I liked the olive-green color. I had no idea how lucky I was to find it! I've used it DAILY for 7.5 years (commuting via public transit year-round in Chicago and as an everyday and travel bag—and a great bag for carrying tons of groceries home), I’ve replaced it only once (back in 2019). I feel wasteful saying this, but I could have continued using that backpack probably to this day, but the water bottle holder mesh on that model was too tight to hold my coffee or water bottles conveniently, the front pocket zipper had broken, and I seem to remember the bag started to wear away where I folded it. In the past 4 years of using the bag I currently own, I have noticed some wear: the black water-resistant zipper covering on the front pocket zipper has worn away, there are whisps of material at some places in the seams, and the bag’s coating has cracked in the corners where the top is folded down every day. These changes in the bag have not affected its functionality. I don’t keep anything I wouldn’t mind getting water on in the front pocket just in case, but I’ve honestly never noticed the inside pocket has gotten wet even when walking for miles in rain or snow. The inside of the bag has NEVER gotten wet—truly waterproof, even years in! It’s low-profile enough to wear on crowded buses, the perfect size for carry on or personal item stowage on an airplane, and comfortable enough to wear while riding bikes or hiking for miles. Many people have asked me where I got my backpack from, and I tell them they need to buy it because I can't imagine being happier with any other bag. Sadly, even people I've talked to opt for ridiculously expensive waterproof bags from other companies. Why, why? I can only think those are passing fads, and this bag is here to stay. I recently bought the Island Hopper 38L bag and am psyched to use it on a trip that'll last a couple weeks. I wish the best for this company--and please keep making this bag so that the next time I get to the point I need to replace it, it will still be here! Also, I paid $54 for the 25L waterproof dry backpack in 2016, and today it costs the same. Yayo!I’ve added pictures of the wear & tear—please remember these only started appearing after maybe 3 years of daily use!

Rucksack schwarz

Exactly as stated
This product functions exactly as stated - only had it a couple of weeks and on my first trip away - computer + clothes for 1-4 weeks equals just over 8 kgs which is perfect for travelling - would have liked to see an internal clip to hang keys from and the side water bottle holders be a bit tighter - they look a bit flimsy but usable if you need them - quality is good and it’s comfortable to carry. Have not tried it as a dry bag yet. Good value
