250 Lumen Pocket Bonfire, Compact 3-mode UltraBright Cree LED Flashlight, AAA Batteries

First: all the previous reviewers have described this little light quite well. It is phenomenally bright and easy to use. It is one of my favorite personal items to carry around; I am seldom found without it since I often need a flashlight even in daytime, and I frequently work late in the evening.Battery life: very good! I have had mine for over a year now, and I think I am only on the third or fourth set of batteries. You need to understand however, that as the batteries get weaker, the flashlight is not as bright as it was on new batteries. In the end, you replace the batteries not because you cannot see with the light, you just do not have the exceptionally bright flashlight that you are used to.Switch on the rear: although it still works, the switch on the rear is beginning to become a pinch problematic. It is designed to allow a light touch to allow switching from one mode to another, but I am finding it a bit difficult to toggle reliably between each of the three modes. Since the switch does not need to be "clicked" in order to switch modes, it becomes a bit of an art form to push it just the right distance to get the desired mode. Still, this is a very good switch, the light comes on every time I push it.Needs to be fixed!The lens assembly has a translucent blue ring that glows when the light is on. While this looks real cool, the little blue ring is so bright that it affects how well you can see at a distance. I disassembled mine, painted the inside of the ring with dark fingernail polish to make it opaque, and then put it back together. So far: no problems, my little modification has made this the perfect pocket flashlight.I have given several of these away as gifts to employees and customers; this has proven highly popular, and has become somewhat of a "popularity with the employer" token in our workplace. Everyone who does not have it, wants one.

the four star rating is a little the erroneous . I really like this flashlight. However two things hold it back for a 5 star rating . One is the ring that goes around the outside of the light head, one of mine is red the other is blue. I suppose if you're in situation where you need to be seen it may be a help, but to me it's just a distraction. The other thing is other models offer you a choice of either using three triple A batteries, or the 18 xxx single battery. This last mentioned battery is stronger and lasts longer than the triple A's, but is more expensive. There's one other thing of note, I bought this on Amazon quick deals, and only paid $11 each. However, the reason that I bought them was to mount on my rifle scope. It is too thick. The handle diameter is over 1 inch, so it doesn't fit in a standard flashlight holder for your rifle. Other than those few quibbles this is actually an excellent flashlight. You have go through the three modes, high, low, strobe, as you would any other flashlight. I have no problem with this. Some people don't like that, but that's the way it's done on all flashlights as far as I know . If you need this flashlight for walking the dog, when you lose power, etc, this is an excellent choice. Very well made and fits nicely in the hand. The only other slight problem I have, is that the cutouts in the flashlight head should be deeper, because it tends to roll easily when it's on a flat surface. Other than these personal asides , I highly recommend this flashlight .

~update 2~ after contacting bright medic again and explaining what was going on, they sent me 2 new lense assemblies that were not loose... these guys at bright medic worked with me and have fast service... for that i give them 5 stars!i don't know if this is common but the focal lense on this item was loose... the light i recieved worked fine, but the lense over the led rattles and rotates, indepenadant of the housing that encompasses it... i would expect a focal lense to be stationary in its housing, i noticed this first because i went to turn on the light and the outer lense was fogged up, it was cold outside when recieved in the mail, thats when i went to whipe it off and noticed the lense was not connected, free floated i guess you could say inside the housing, or you could say sandwiched between 2 pieces of material, free to spin or rattle if shaken...i just got it today and am dissappointed, if its a defect that slipped under the radar fine, i just feel dirt and grime will work its way in... i do service work and was hoping for something small for when i'm in tight places...i will contact bright medic and see what they say, ugh~update~ i contacted bright medic and they sent me a replacement flashlight free of charge and it also has a focal lense that is free to rattle in its housing...i just emailed them again to see if this is normal of their product, which since they said it was not, they had sent me another... however the same issue was there... i contacted them today and informed them of this and will see, perhaps i recieved 2 defective units, however if i were a company i would make sure a customer recieved a proper quality item if they were not satisfied originally. i do like the light and they did send me another one fast, so i upgraded my review to 3 stars for the fast service, yet there is still the issue of the focal lense being loose.
