Fascinating Facts, Mysteries and Myths About U.S. Coins

I purchased this for my husband's birthday. He absolutely loves reading it. He has been collecting coins for over 40 years and is fascinated with the history of the coins. A great read for coin collectors!

While not a necessity for all coin collectors, no one who buys this book will regret it. For coin lover and history buffs alike, the in-depth articles and "rest-of-the-story" information provided should delight even the casual reader. I have been a coin collector for 61 years and, early on, developed a hunger for the history behind each coin. I enjoyed all 23 chapters of this book, which, I think, is an update of an earlier book of Mr. Ryzin's. For me, the only thing lacking in this book was that I was left wanting more stories. I hope Mr. Ryzin sees fit to publish another update in the future. If so, I most certainly will buy it.

Grandson who is new to coin collecting and likes digging into the history behind things enjoys this book. He's shared some interesting facts with me. Would recommend if you have a "smarty-pants" grandson like I do to keep him learning.

This is a great book for any fan of numismatics, American history, or interesting facts. The author inserts, via inserts, little stories to keep the reader engaged add more the the experience. While this works in print, it fails in Kindle, as you're not seeing the same pages as the publisher laid out, and the inserts are disruptive and not displayed well, either on my Kindle or on my Kindle for PC (I read on both). Obviously a poor conversion.

Decent book for coin collectors. Stories ramble a bit and seem to go off course, but still has a decent amount of history and details. Good book to peak interest in coin collecting.

Great reference book, recommend having this book for collectors.
