A great read
The twists and turns in this book were wonderful. And love shown in its good and bad forms was what brought it all together. Read this on my kindle at night in bed. Sally at her very best! π

A bit slow and repetitive in parts....
I gave it 3 stars as it was an ok read. Really repeated a lot. 2 murders but I felt the author could have put more emphasis on the murders themselves. That could have given her two complete chapter's which would have let her not repeat or put the main characters in a restaurant or in front of food for at least two chapter's!When did the main characters do any mundane chores around home? .When did they do any Christmas shopping for anyone? All they did was hang out with each other from early morning to late in the evenings butting their noses into everyone's business, and when not butting eating and knitting from morning to night. The storyline between Izzy and Sam was a bit lame to say the least and quite a let down when we were finally told what he'd been up to for half of the book. If you can't share this with your proposed bride to be there needs to be work done on their relationship before saying," I do"!It's a cozy read, without much romance or intrigue.I gave it 3 stars as I didnt figure out who the murderer was until near the end but that didnt hold much excitement eitherIf you love knitting and palling around and a quaint seaside town please read this otherwise move on.

A Winner
I've read every book in this series, beginning with the first one. I IMMEDIATELY enjoyed the characters that were from this small seaside village. As I continued to read the series, the characters began to build and one becomes familiar with them and their lives. The base "crew" of the Knitting circle are Nell, Cass, Izzy, and Birdie. These women with the help of other village citizens, solve the mystery of a puzzling death. The "mysteries" usually happen during the summer, however this happens during the winter season, and I enjoyed the change the author took. Ben is Nells husband and Izzy's uncle and plays a very distinct role in the village where they reside. I do believe that any reader that enjoys a lighter touch to "murder" will enjoy this "Yarn" as well as the others in this series.... I certainly did.

I read it because I bought it
I enjoy reading a feel-good type of book at Christmastime. I strayed from books by the authors I usually read. From my perspective, this book was slow paced. There was way too much eating, drinking of wine, and descriptions about food instead of the mystery. It is a given we all eat every day, but continually reading about what they were eating was a little annoying. I kept expecting a transition to pick up the pace and drop the wasted time on describing what they were eating. It seemed more of book about entertaining or about people hanging out together than a mystery. It is a wonder they figured out whodunit with all of the eating and drinking going on.

Nice Seasonal Cozy
I've read a few in this series, unfortunately - out of order, yet they're all great reads. This one is no exception with some wonderful twists and turns (or should I say cables and short rows?). These sleuths leave no rock unturned. A great page-turner. I highly recommend.

Seaside Christmas mystery
Another wonderful Seaside Knitters mystery. These are the most wonderful characters, like friends of your own. The ambience of the town and the friendship and camaraderie of the characters is a story in itself, but the mystery is a great one as well. This is the fourth one in the series, and I'm beginning the next one. This is a great series. Start with the first one, and soon you'll savor the delights of each book. Happy reading.

Great cozy
This is a mystery set in a small New England town at Christmas time. The plot led my down the garden path. It took me by surprise. Even better weβre the characters and their friendships. The food consumed made me hungry and I want to pull out knitting needles after the description on the yarn shop. I will be reading more of this series.

Good, lite read
Truly a cozy read. It kept my attention pleasurably. Unlike a reviewer, I found it not trite or "formulatic" (whatever that is to mean. ) An enjoyable quick read.

One of my favourites
Still re-reading. This book is a special favourite of mine because it introduced me to the Knit-a-Square charity oganisation, of which I became a member in 2012. I may never have found this organisation without its appearance in this book.Apart from this, it's another good addition to the series. A nicely convoluted plot; lots of suspects. I love the town, the inhabitants and the feeling of the closeness of all the main characters. It's the first book, however, where I worked out who was the culprit quite early on.......due to a clue given in an earlier book!

Make sure you are within the target audience...
... otherwise the fun and entertainment from this book will be limited.I was a bit suspicious when I saw the cover and attracted at the same time when I shopped around before Christmas. The frontcover was so warm, inviting and perfectly winterish for the holiday season. Also, a story set at a lovely ocean village just during the last few weeks before Christmas, a little bit of crime: all that looked and sounded like the perfect book for long evenings in winter.Well, the book delivers on that obvious promise. But with it comes a story about the village and its people that was extremely boring for me. I think it's not the authors fault, but I should have paid more attention to some more comments on the book.Basically it's a story about women who love to knit in a small village where exactly that knitting, together with the little museums boardmeetings seem to be the most important things in the world. All that happens in a sometimes artificially way of goodness, perfect happiness that it is disturbing. Ok, it's also about caring for others, friendship and love for family. But all that is told in such a slow moving and boring way, that it really made me sleepy anytime I read it.I somehow sense, that I am not part of the whished for readers: so I believe that this book is not for people of younger age.Why still the stars? Well, not every book is for everyone, but that's not the books fault. However, even if I try to put me in a more mature age, I think it would still be boring for me.
