Fixes short cable issue in real full tower machines!
I run full circa 1990 full tower cases and frequently wind up with disks mounted out of cable reach, especially with the newer postage stamp mother board. These are perfect - plug them into the drive and plug the power & data cables into the other end. Presto every thing is goodness again. I used them on some 1 & 3 Tb spinning disks and a pair of Kingston SSD's without any noticeable problems.

Handy for disc cloning
